2. Thfs. permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and maybe subject to a fee equal to one-half of the originalpermitfee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees androcedures for approval of any new permit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.

5. The permit holder shall notify the Building and Inspection Services Division in accordance with established policy of all required

The product covered by this report is the Sun Frame Micro Rail roof mounted Photovoltaic
Rack Mounting System. This system is designed to provide bonding and grounding to
photovoltaic modules. The mounting system employs anodized or mill finish aluminum brackets
that are roof mounted using the slider, outlined in section 4 of this report. There are no rails
within this product, whereas the 3" Micro Rail, Floating Splice, and 9" Attached Splice
electrically bond the modules together forming the path to ground.
The Micro Rails are installed onto the module frame by using a stainless steel bolt anodized
with black oxide with a stainless type 300 bonding pin, torqued to 20 ft -lbs, retaining the
modules to the bracket. The bonding pin of the Micro Rail when bolted and torqued, penetrate

the anodized coating of the photovoltaic module frame to contact the metal, creating a bonded
connection from module to module.
Ratings
The grounding of the entire system is intended to be in accordance with the latest edition of the
National Electrical Code, including NEC 250: Grounding and Bonding, and NEC 690: Solar
Photovoltaic Systems. Any local electrical codes must be adhered in addition to the
national electrical codes. The Grounding Lug is secured to the photovoltaic module, torqued in
accordance with the installation manual provided in this document.
Other optional grounding includes the use of the Enphase UL2703 certified grounding system,
which requires a minimum of 2 micro -inverters mounted to the same rail, and using the same
engage cable.

Observation of the condition of the existing framing system was performed by an audit team of
Freedom Forever LLC . After review of the field observation data and based on the accompanying
structural capacity calculations, the existing roof framing has been determined to be adequate to
support the proposed PV installation without structural upgrades.
Limits of Scope of Work and Liability
Existing structure is assumed to have been designed and constructed following appropriate codes at
time of erection, and assumed to have appropriate permits. The calculations produced are only for
the roof framing supporting the proposed PV installation referenced in the stamped planset and were
completed according to generally recognized structural analysis standards and procedures,
professional engineering and design experience, opinions and judgements. Existing deficiencies
which are unknown or were not observable during time of inspection are not included in this scope of
work. All PV modules, racking, and mounting equipment shall be designed and installed per
manufacturer's approved installation specifications. The Engineer of Record and Current Renewables
Engineering assume no responsibility for misuse or improper installation. This analysis is not stamped
for water leakage. Framing was determined based on information in provided plans and/or photos,
along with engineering judgement. Prior to commencement of work, the contractor shall verify the
framing sizes, spacings, and spans noted in the stamped plans, calculations, and cert letter (where
applicable) and notify the Engineer of Record of any discrepancies prior to starting construction.
Contractor shall also verify that there is no damaged framing that was not addressed in stamped
plans, calculations, and cert letter (where applicable) and notify the Engineer of Record of any
concerns prior to starting construction.

contractors only. This type of permit is ONLY being processed online --do not come

Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
