Thank you for choosing a Mule -Bide Roofing systems Following are guidelines on how to care for your roof to help ensure along useful service life. The
manufacturer'swamanty isnot a maintenance program or agreement. There are various items associated with your roof system that are not covered under
the warranty. It is the responsibility of the Building Omer to regularly inspect and maintain the roof.
Mule -Fide strongly recommends the Building Owner institutes an annual maintenance program with written documentation of any activities on the roof.
Maintain a log of maintenance procedures and people accessing the roof. This aids the building owner in determining the source of any damage to the
roof. Your roofing system should be inspected at Ieast twice a year (once in the spring and once in the fall) and after every major storm. These inspections
should be performed by MuIe-hide Warranty Eligible Applicatoror by someone sped alIytrained in roofing systems

Understand the Terms and Conditions to avoid adversely affecting the warranty.
General Guidelines
1. Keep the roof surface clean of debris, especially at drain areas to avoid clogging. Good roofing practice suggests that water not be allowed
to remain on the roof for more than 48 hours after a rain. Keeping the roof clear of debris will allow for proper water run-off and avoid
overloading the roof with standing water.
2. Keep chemical and petroleum products (acids chemicals solvents, greases, oil$ or any liquids containing petroleum products) off the membrane
to avoid degradation. If smelling occurs, contact Mule -Fide immediatety.
3. Do not exhaust Wtchen wastes (vegetable oils) or other animal fats directly onto the roof surface. If incidental contact islilc-ly, contact Mule- Fide
for recommendati ons on preventative measures
4. TPO and PVC membranes may be used for restaurant roofs but must have a rooftop maintenance program in-place to ensure that accumulations
of animal fats'grease are regularly removed and the membrane surface is cleaned periodically. See Mule -hide's Care and Maintenance Overview
for specific cleaning instructions
5. Walk wysmust be provided if regular rooftop traffic is required, such as servicing of rooftop equipment. Exercise caution when not walling on
walkAays; especially on white membranes Mbite-on-Black EPDM, Elastomeric Acrylic Coatings TPO and PVC) since ice orfrosf build-up may not
be vi si bl e. Al I membranes are sl i ppery when wet.
6. V\hen itis necessary for woriersto be on the roof to service rooftop equipment, e.g., HVAC units antennas etc., woriers should be cautioned to use
mlkAays and to exerdse care with their tools and equipment to avoid puncturing the roofing membrane. Mule4-1 de recommends that the building
owner or property manager keep a "Roof -top Maintenance and Activity Log" to track dates and activitiesby personnel or other trades

scrubbing with detergent and water, then rinsing with dean water. To maximize and maintain reflectivity, white membrane(s) should be cleaned
once every two years

sealants regardless of the purpose or function, are required maintenance itemsto be remediated by the Building Owner, including but not limited
to pitch pan and metal flashing sealants
9. LOssof granulesfrom mineral surfaced membranes is typical and not a manufacturing defect. In casesof granule lossthat becomes more
noticeable, additional surfacing should be applied asdirected by Mule+ide.
10. Protective elastomericcoating systemswili oxidize and weather, losing overall dry film thidmes& Thisisnomial and not a defect in the material.
Warranti es that include an elastomeric coating asa protective surfacing of a membrane may require periodic recoating at specified intervaisto
maintain the warrantycoverage. The Building Owner isresponsible for all ccdsto perform any specified recoating.
11. Examine all areasadjacent to the roof, parapet wallsand adjoining structures Damage to itemssudi asmas nry, failing mortarjoin% loose or
missing sealants loose stone ortiies loose and improperlysealed counterflashings etc., may be the source of lealsthat are inadvertently blamed
on the roofing system. These itemsneed to be addressed by properly trained personnel to avoid damage to the roof system.
12. If any changes are to be made to the roofing system (FV/AC equipment, TV antennas, tie4risto new roofing system ; etc), contact Mule- fide for
prior approval. ViAdirectiy related to the roofing system must be accomplished by a Mule -Fide Warranty Eligible Contractor.
13. If you have a leak, chedcforthe obvious such asdogged roof drains broken skylights; loose counterflashings, brok an water pipes, leaking roof units;
and storm damage. Note when the leaking occurs Itemssuch asheavy or light rain, wind direction, temperature and time of day are important
duesfortradcng suspected leaks Doesthe leakstart and stop with the rain, or doesieaidng continue after the rain hasceased?
If you believe that the leak isoovered underthe Mule -tide warranty, please notify Mule -ti de's Warranty Department at (800) 786-1492 assoon aspossible,
and follow up with written notification in accordance with the warranty terms Leale resulting from the deterioration orfailure of building oomponentsor
physical damage are not covered by the Warranty. The building ownermwl pay the investigation and repair cost if the problem isfound to be outside the
scope of the Vlarranty.
For temporary repairs in the Mule -fide membrane, use a one -part urethane sealant and contact Mule -Fide. Do not use any Asphalt Product to make
repairson any single -ply roof asit WILL degrade the membrane. If any asphalt product isused on a single -ply roofing membrane, that area will have to be
removed and replaced at the Owner'sexpense.

Midroof & Final Roof inspections for ROOFS 6/12 PITCH & OVER: 3rd party inspection will be
required for both the midroof and final inspections. The 3rd party inspection report AND
THE ORIGINAL PERMIT CARD needs to be dropped off to the Permit Desk at the City of Wheat
Ridge. The report MUST BE SIGNED by the Homeowner.
REGARDING ROOF VENTILATION: Roof ventilation shall comply with IBC Sec. 1203.2 or IRC Sec.
R806. The installation of ridge venting requires the installation or existence of soffit
venting. For calculation purposes, one hat or turtle vent equal to one-half of one square
foot of opening.
Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof
when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. Sheathing and
mid -roofs may be called in at the same time, one hundred percent of the sheathing must be
complete and 25-75 percent of the mid -roof may be complete. Asphalt shingles are required
to be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield
is required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer installation instructions,
whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of elastomeric or similar
type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the manufacturer technical
representative stating that "the application of the roof at (project address) has been
applied in accordance with the installation instruction for (roof material brand name) roof
covering" is required to be on site at the time of final inspection.

1. This permit was issued in accordance with the provisions set forth in your application and is subject to the laws of the
State of Colorado and to the Zoning Regulations and Building Codes of Wheat Ridge, Colorado or any other applicable
ordinances of the City.
2. This permit shall expire 180 days from the issue date. Requests for an extension must be received prior to expiration
date. An extension may be granted at the discretion of the Building Official.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be acquired for a fee of one -half the amount normally required, provided no
changes have been or will be made in the original plans and specifications and any suspension or abandonment has not
exceeded one (1) year. If changes have been or if suspension or abandonment exceeds one (1) year, full fees shall
be paid for a new permit.
4. No work of any manner shall be done that will change the natural flow of water causing a drainage problem.
S. Contractor shall notify the Building Inspector twenty -four (24) hours in advance for all inspections and shall receive
written approval on inspection card before proceeding with successive phases of the job.
6. The issuance of a permit or the approval of drawings and specifications shall not be construed to be a permit for, nor
an approval of, any violation of the provisions of the building codes or any other ordinance, law, rule or regulation.

Wind Anchoring System:
The standard racking system uses one 5/16" diameter lag bolt driven into the rafters or the top
chord of trusses. These lag bolts have a safe working limit of 300 pounds per fastener per
inch of embedment in hem -fir; doug -fir is higher. The feet need to be anchored with a
minimum of one 5/16" -shank diameter lag bolt driven a minimum of 1 -1/2" of thread depth
into the rafters.
