Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved midroof
inspection, conducted when 25-75 percent of the roof covering is installed, prior to final
approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) requires an approved inspection
prior to installation of ANY roof coverings and is require on the entire roof when spaced
or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding k/2 -inch exists. Asphalt shingles are required to
be fastened to the roof deck with a minimum of 6 nails per shingle. Ice and water shield is
required. Eave and rake metal is required. A ladder extending 3 feet above the roof eave
and secured in place is required to be provided for all roof inspections. Roof ventilation
is required to comply with applicable codes and/or manufacturer&Oms installation
instructions, whichever is more stringent. In order to pass a final inspection of
elastomeric or similar type roof coverings, a letter of inspection and approval from the
manufacturer's technical representative stating that "the application of the roof at
(project address) has been applied in accordance with the installation instruction for
(roof material brand name) roof covering" is required to be on site at the time of final
inspection.

1. This permit was issued based on the information provided in the permit application and accompanying plans and specifications and is
subject to the compliance with those documents, and all applicable statutes, ordinances, regulations, policies and procedures.
2. This permit shall expire 365 days after the date of issuance regardless of activity. Requests for extension must be made in writing and
received prior to the date of expiration. An extension of no more than 180 days made be granted at the discretion of the Chief Building
Official and may be subject to a fee equal to one-half of the original permit fee.
3. If this permit expires, a new permit may be required to be obtained. Issuance of a new permit shall be subject to the standard
requirements, fees andprocedures for approval of any new pen -nit. Re -issuance or extension of expired permits is at the sole discretion of
the Chief Building Official and is not guaranteed.

5. The permit holder shall notify the Building and Inspection Services Division in accordance with established policy of all required

replacement with structural alteration and electrical work at 12245 W. 291h Place, Wheat Ridge, CO,
80033 was conducted and the following notes, corrections and clarifications are hereby attached to
and indicated on the submitted plans:

2. Windows shall have a minimum energy factor rating of U-.50.
3. Microlam Beams shall be assembled in accordance with manufacturer's instructions for nailing of

SPECIAL USE AND OCCUPANCY
Division I- BARRIERS FOR SWIMMING POOLS, SPAS AND HOT TUBS
SECTION 419 - GENERAL
~ 419.1 Scope. The provisions of this sec[ion apply to the design
and constraction of barriers for swimming pools bcated on the
premises of Group R, Division 3 Occupancies.
419.2 Standards of Quality. In addition to the other require-
ments of [his code, safely covers fur pools and spas shall mee! the
requirements for pool and spa safe[y covers as listed below. The
standard listed below is a recognized standxrd (See Section
3504.)
1. ASTM F 1346, Standard Performnnce Specification for
Safery Covers and Labeling Requirement for All Covers for
Swimming Pools, Spas and Hot Tubs
SECTION 420 - DEFINITIONS
For the purpose of [his secCion, certain terms, words and phrases
are defined as follows:
ABOVEGROUND/ON-GROUND POOL. See definition of
"swimming pool."
BARRIER is a fence, wall, building wall or combina[ion
[hereof [ha[ completely surrounds the swimming pool and
obstruc[s access to the swimming pool.
GRADE is the underlying surface, such as earth or a walking
surface.
' HOT TUB. See defini[ion of "spa, nonself-contained" and
"spa, self-contained."
In-GROUND POOL. See definition of "swimming pool."
SEPARATION FENCE is a barrier [hat separa[es all doors of a
dwelling unit with direc[ access to a swimming pool from the
swimming pool.
SPA, NONSELF-CONTAINED, is a hydromassage pool or
[ub for recrea[ional or therapea[ic use, not located in health-cace
facilities, designed for immersion of users and usually having a
filter, hea[er and motoo-dciven blowec It may be installed indoors
or outdoors, on the ground or on a supporting struc[ure, or in the
ground or in a suppor[ing structure. A nonself-con[ained spa is
in[ended for recreational bathing and contains water over
24 inches (510 mm) deep.
SPA, SELF-CONTAINED, is a continuous-duty appliance in
which all controf, wateo-heating and wateo-cirwlating equipmenf
is an in[egral part of the product, located en[irely under the spa
skirt A self-contained spa is inteuded for cecceational bathing and
contains water over 24 inches (610 mm) deep.
. SWIMMING POOL is any stmcture intended for swimming
or recreational bathing tha[ contains water over 24 inches (610
mm) deep. This includes in-ground, aboveground and on-ground
~ swimming pools, and fixed-in-place wading pools.
SWIMMING POOL, INDOOR, is a swimming pool Ihat is
[otally contained wi[hin a residential struc[ure and surrounded on
all four sides by walls of said stmctuce.
SWIMMING POOL, OUTDOOR, is any swimming pool
tha[ is no[ an indoor pool.
SECTION 421 - REQUIREMENTS
4211 Ou[door Swimming Pool. An outdoor swimming pool
shall be provided wi[h a barrier tha[ shall be installed, inspected
and approved prior to plastering or filling with water. The barrier
shull comply wi[h the following:
1. The [op of the barrier shall be at least 48 inches (1219 mm)
above grade measured on the side of the barrier that faces away
from the swimming pooL The maximum vertical clearance
between grade and the bottom of the barcier shall be 2 inches
(51 mm) measured on the side of the barrier that Faces awuy from
the swimming pool. The maximum vertical clearance at the bo[-
tom of the barrier may be increased [0 4 inches (102 mm) when
grade is a solid surfxce such as a concrete deck, or when the barrier
is mounled on the [op of the aboveground pool structure. When
barriers have horizontal members spaced less than 45 inches
(1143 mm) apart, the horizontal members shall be pluced on the
pool side of the barrier. My decorative design work on the side
away &om the swimming pool, such as protrusions, indentations
or cutouts, which reuder the barrier exsily climbable, is pmhibited.
2. Openings in the barrier shall not allow passage of a
13/4-inch-diame[er (44.5 mm) sphere.
EXCEPCIONS: 1. When vertical spacing between such openings
is 45 imhes (1143 mm) or more, the opening size may be inereased
such that the passnge of a 4-inch-diameter (102 mm) sphere is not
allowed.
2. Fur fencing composed of vertical and hurimn[al memben, the
spacing between vertical members may be inaeased up t0 4 inches
(102 mm) when the distance between the tops of horizon[al membecs
is 45 inches (1143 mm) ac more.
3. Chain link fences used as the barrier shall not be less [han
11 gage.
4. Access gates shall comply with the requirements oP Items 1
Ihrough 3. Pedestrian access ga[es shall be self-closing and have a
self-la[ching device. Where the release mechanism of the self-
latching device is located less than 54 inehes (1372 mm) from the
bottom of the gate, (Q the release mechanism shall be located on
the pool side of the barrier at least 3 inches (76 mm) below the top
of the gate, and (2) the gate and barrier shall have no opening
greater than 1/2 inch (12] mm) within 18 inches (457 mm) of the
release mechanism. Pedestrian gates shall swing away from the
pouL Any gates other [han pedestrian access gates shall be
equipped with lockable hardware or padlocks and shall remain
locked at all [imes when not in use.
5. Where a wall of a Group R, Division 3 Ocwpancy dwelling
unit seeves as part of the barrier and contains door openings
between the dwelling unit and the outdoor swimming pool that
provide direct access to the pool, a separation fence mee[ing the
requirements of Items 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Sec[ion 421.1 shall be pro-
vided.
EXCEPTION: When approved by the building ofl'icial, one of the
following may be used:
1. Self-closing and sel6lalching devices installed an all doors with
direct access [o the pool with the eelease mechanism located a
minimum ol'S4 inches (1372 mm) above the tluor.
2. An alazm instnlled on all doors wilh direc[ accesa to the pool.
The alarm shull sound cuntinuously for n mirtimum of 30 seo-
onds within seven seconds after the dooc and its sereen, if pees-
ent, arc openeJ, nnd be cdpable of prnviding n sountl pressurc
level of na[ tess than 35 dBA when mcasured indooa al 10 feet
(3048 mm). The ularm shall aWomalicullv rese[ undee ull condi-

lions. The alarm sys[em shall be equipped with a manual means,
such as a rouchpad or swi[ch, to temporarily deactivate the alarm
for a single opening. Such deac[ivalion shall lasl no lunger than
15 sewnds. The deactivation swiMh shull be loeaeed at least
54 inches (1372 mm) above the theeshold of the dooc
3. Other means of protectiou may be acceptuble so Iong as the
degree of protection affurded is notless than that affurded by
any of the devices described above.
6. Where an aboveground pool shucture is used as a barrier or
whece the barrier is mounted on top of the pool strucmre, and the
means of access is a ladder or steps, then (L) the ladder or steps
shal] be capable of being sewred, locked or removed to prevent
access or (2) [he ladder or steps shall be surrounded by a barrier
that meets the reqairements of Items 1[hrough 5. When the ladder

or steps are sewred, locked or removed, any opening crea[ed shall
be protected by a barrier complying with Items 1 through 5.
421.2 Indoor Swimming Pool. For an indoor swimming puol, iI
protection shall comply with the requiremen[s of Section 421.1, Item S.
421.3 Spas and Hot 1Lbs. For a nonself-contained and self-
contained spx or hot tub, protection shall comply with the requice-
men[s of Section 421.1.
EXCEPTION: A self-wntained spa or hot wb eyuipped with a
IisteA safety cover shall be exempt from the requirements of Seo-
tian 42 L 1.

Today I performed a field observation of the subject pool and determined that the dimensions, depth, steel
reinforcement, and water pipe lines were installed in conformance with my drawings. All work was done
in a proper manner. In addition, I observed the soil in the pool excavation and verifed that the Structural
design of the pool is adequate for the conditions observed. The Bonding and Plumbing were installed
properly.
