As can be seen in Photograph No. I below the original existing foundation is a 32 inch concrete block wall supported by an eight inch deep by 18 inch wide concrete footer. The basement was dug out an additional four feet, a slab poured, 4x6 inch posts were embedded into the soil approximately three feet on eight foot centers and 3/4 inch exterior plywood was placed between the posts to retain the soil below the existing wall. "I"he ties/posts shall be connected to the 4x6 existing vertical, posts by a minimum of two 3/8 inch lag screws on each end. The tops of the 4x6 Posts on eight foot centers shall be securely fastened to the floor joists. b. Grout shall be placed between the existing 1/4 inch plywood and the existing soils behind the wall to fill the void between the existing soil and the plywood to prevent the soils ftorn stuffing or settling wider the existing foundation.
