HEATING SHALL BE SUPPLIED TO THE TEANANT SPACE PRIOR TO FINAL INSPECTION BY THE FIRE DISTRICT. PIPES WERE FROZEN WHICH CAUSED ORIGINAL BREAK IN THE SPRINKLER SYSTEM. 1. Building plans have not been submitted to date for review and permitting. Other code requirements may be applied. 2. Permit for required Knox box shall be submitted and installed prior to final inspection. (Added to requirement package.) 3. The system shall have complete coverage and be unobstructed. The plans submitted do not show elevation changes and may need to be addressed during the rough-in inspection. 4. A rough in inspection shall be scheduled with the Fire Marshal, given 48 business hours. 5. Permits and approved plans shall remain onsite during all phases of construction. 6. All construction vehicles shall keep all Fire Lanes clear at all times "NO EXCEPTIONS". Parking summons will be issued. 7. Fire alarm drawings shall be submitted to the Fire District for approval. 8. A required box for spare sprinklers/ wrench for replacement shall be in the area of the fire riser room. 9. Main Area (Starting at existing South Line): Line #1- replace (1) damaged 1-1/4xlxi/2" threaded tee, and replace the existing (5) standard response uprights with new upright sprinkler heads Line #2 - remove and plug the entire existing branchline and heads, due to line #1 and #2 now being to close after wall was removed. Item #2 - installation of new 6" double check backflow assembly (see attached paperwork). Item #3 - provide (6) additional sprinkler head, and (1) sprinkler head wrench for head existing box. Item #4 - after completing above noted repairs and installation of the new backflow, device, complete an air test to determine if there is any additional damage to the sprinkler system that is not noted above. NFPA # 13 2002, Table 11.2.2.1. Water Supply Requirements for Pipe Schedule Sprinkler Systems for Ordinary Hazard Occupancies a Minimum Residual Pressure of 20 psi is Required. Acceptable Flow at the Base of Riser of 850 -1500 GPM is Required. The flow test results of a flow test performed on 07-2008 by Wheat Ridge Water is: Static pressure: 80 psi Residual pressure: 56 psi GPM Flowing: 1390 gpm This information is provided on the city main not the base of the riser. Friction loss through the underground piping, from the city main to the Base of the Riser. There is 175' of 6" ductile iron pipe. Friction loss per feet for 1100 GPM through 6" pipe is.0364/foot. With this information, the pressure available at the base of the riser: 175'x.0364 psi/ft = 6.4 psi for 175 of 6" pipe. Residual pressure at the Base of the Riser for 1100 GPM will be 65.0 psi - 6.4 psi = 58.6 psi. Pressure loss for a 6" Ames "C2W' Double Check Assembly is 6.5 psi @ 1100 gpm. Loss for elevation change to highest sprinkler head @ 14'-8" above finished floor adds 14.66x .433 = 6.4 psi of elevation loss. Available pressure at base of riser is 58.6 psi - 6.5 psi - 6.4 psi = 45.7 psi, which is greater that the 20 psi require to be supplied at the base of the riser. The Colt C200/C200N may be installed under continuous pressure service and may be subjected to backpressure. The Colt C200/C200N consists of two independently operating check valves, two shutoff valves, and four test cocks. For use in non-health hazard applications. Specifications The Colt C200/C200N Double Check Valve Assembly shall consist of two independent Tri-Link Check modules within a single housing, sleeve access port, four test cocks and two drip tight shutoff valves. Tri-Link Checks shall be removable and serviceable, without the use of special tools. The housing shall be constructed of 304 (Schedule 40) stainless steel pipe with groove end connections. Tri-Link checks shall have reversible elastomer discs and in operation shall produce drip tight closure against the reverse flow of liquid caused by backpressure or backsiphonage.
