I am writing in response to your permit application for bus bench sites throughout
the City of Wheat Ridge. You and I spoke in March about bus benches owned by
Bench-Ad being replaced by bus shelters that are being erected by another company.
The City of Wheat Ridge has entered into a contract with Outdoor Promotions to
allow bus sheiters to be built in numerous locations not yet designated. Outdoor
Promotions is required to go through a pubic notification and permit process before a
shelter can be built. This process takes approximately 45 days from start to finish and
does not inciude the construction of the shelter.
Outdoor Promotions has not yet notified the City of its proposed locations of their
shelters, therefore we are unable to inform you of the locations where the bus
benches will be displaced. Instead of processing your permit and fees, and then
reimbursing you for displaced bus benches, the City will not cash the checks you
provided with your permit application for 1996 and will not require any fees for bus
bench locations for this year. We will proceed with inspection of each site to ensure
other violations do not exist (i.e. safety, placement, maintenance) and notify you if
there are any probiems of that nature.
As Outdoor Promotions determines their shelter locations, Bench-Ad will be notified
in advance of the site and the need for removal of the displaced benches.
If you have any questions, piease feel free to contact me at 235-2845. We
appologize for any inconveniences.
Sincerely,
C .
