Dear pon:
The City of Wheat Ridge has reconsidered your proposal to defray the cost of the replacement of
bus benches along 38`" Avenue within our streetscape project area. Rather than waiving the bus
bench fees next yeaz, we aze proposing that we pay the $8,000.00 for the 16 benches from our
streetscape budget this year.
This letter authorizes the production of the 16 bus benches as presented to us in photographs,
except that the benches will be painted black. The $8,000.00 covers the cost of manufacturing
the 16 benches. Installation will be free of charge.
We will follow the normal bus bench permitting process next year which will include these 16
benches.
Your previous let'ter to me indicated that delivery could be expected within six to eight weeks.
We will need to coordinate placement of the benches with the construction along 38' Avenue.
Please indicate your acceptance of the terms of this letter agreement by signing below,
Sincerely,
A, c'

Alan,
Confirmed with Randy that we would pay the $8,000 from the project and still require his
permit fee. Randy asked me to ask you to send Mr. Goette, of the bus bench company,
letter indicating this and to request a reply of his agreement with these terms. Also,
authorize the production of the benches (in black) and obtain a delivery date.
Thanks for you help. j

RE: New benches for Streetscape project
Dear Alan:
This letter is in reference to the sixteen (16) new benches requested for the Ciry of Wheat
Ridge Streetscape project.
Due to the high cost of installing our current benches throughout the City of Wheat Ridge,
and the fact that they are nice looking and fully functiaial; we do not believe it is necessary
for us to incur the expense of changing these sixteen (16) benches due to a city streetscape
project.
If the City of Wheat Ridge decides that it is necessary to change these 16 permitted
benches, we are willing to manufacture theses custom benches for the city in exchange for
waiving the bench costs toward the 2003 permit fees.
Because of the increased cost of the new metal slat style benches and the small number of
benches for this custom manufacturing order, sixteen benches will cost $8,000. This is
our manufacturing cost and NOT our resale cost. Installation will be free of charge.
Please allow six to eight weeks notice before installation date, due to manufacturing time
line.
Sincerely,
r
