MINUTES FOR PUBLIC BEARING
ON TCI FRANCIllSE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO
7500 W 29th Avenue, Municipal Building
The Public Hearing regarding TCI franchise was called to order by Mayor Wilde at 7'00 p m.
Councilmembers present: Teri Dalbec, Don Eafanti, Jean Fields, Janelle Shaver (arrived at
7 12 p.m.), Ken Siler, and Claudia Worth Not present: Tony Solano and Jerry DiTullio
Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, City Attorney, Gerald Dahl, Personnel
Assistant, Patty Crew; and interested citizens
The Meeting was called to order by Mayor Wilde at 7'00 p.m
Patricia Crew, 7500 West 29th Avenue, explained that the City had inserted a cable
television survey form in the last CAP newsletter; we received 2,080 responses She gave a
summary of the information and submitted it for the record
John Buckner, 3785 High Court, #6, stated that the cost of cable is too high for him, but he
sometimes watches at his parents house Feels there are lots of reruns, would like to see
more educational programming; too much violence on TV
Councilmembers comments included: would like more Community Programming, film some
of the local school events, replay City Council Meetings more often, broadcast Study
Sessions, Planning Commission meetings, maybe even Board of Adjustment meetings,
inform subscribers when showing free shows with adult content.
Mayor Wilde asked that Council forward all their concerns to Patty Crew and Jerry Dahl so
that they have the information when they meet with TCI to discuss the franchise agreement.
Meeting adjourned at 7 45 P m
