A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE DENVER
REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION DISTRICT MAINTAIN BUS
ROUTE 32 WEST OF WADSWORTH BOULEVARD
WHEREAS , the Denver Regional Transportation Dis t rict (RTD) has prepared the
Proposed West Corridor Service Plan 2013 (Service Plan) dated April 2012 ; and
WHEREAS, th e RTD Service Pl an prov ides for re du ction of bus route service in
Wheat Ri dge ; and
WHEREAS , the RTD Service Plan bus route reductions include Rou te 32 , west
of Wadswo rth Boulevard ; and
WHEREAS, RTD fai led to re q uest pa rt icipatio n f rom the City while preparing the
RTD Service Pl an ; and
WHEREAS, t he elimination of Rou te 32 service west of W adsworth would be a
tremen dous ha rdship on the W heat Ridge High School stud ents and pare nts ; and
WHEREAS , the elimination of Route 32 service west of Wadsworth will
dramat ica lly impact residents ability to commute to work o r schoo l in Denve r.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Wheat Ridge City Council , that:
Section 1. RTD Service Plan Amendment.
The Ci t y of W heat Ri dge reso lves to re quest t hat the Denver Regional
Tran sportation District amend the Proposed West Corridor Service P lan 2013 to
not include red uctions i n service on RTD Route 32.
Section 2 . Effective Date M ay 14th, 2012
This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption .
