CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER The regular meeting of the Wheat Ridge Planning Commission was called to order by Chair McNAMEE at 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers of the Municipal Building, 7500 West 29th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. 2. ROLL CALL Commission Members Present: John McMillin Marian McNamee Phil Plummer Jerry Scezney Kim Stewart Scott Wesley Kevin Witt Staff Members Present: Alan White, Community Development Director Travis Crane, Planner JeffHirt, Planning Technician Ann Lazzeri, Recording Secretary 3. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Following is the official set of Planning Commission minutes for the public hearing of March 18, 2004. A set of these minutes is retained both in the office of the City Clerk and in the Community Development Department of the City of Wheat Ridge. 4. APPROVE ORDER OF AGENDA It was moved by Commissioner PLUMMER and seconded by Commissioner McMILLIN to approve the agenda as presented. The motion passed unanimously. 5. APPROVE MINUTES - February 19,2004 It was moved by Commissioner WITT and seconded by Commissioner WESLEY to approve the minutes of February 19,2004 as presented. The motion passed 4-0 with Commissioners McMILLIN, STEW ART and SCEZENY abstaining. Planning Connnission March 18, 2004 Page I 6. PUBLIC FORUM No one indicated a desire to speak at this time. 7. PUBLIC HEARINGS There were no cases to come before the Commission at this meeting. 8. OLD BUSINESS There was no old business to come before the Commission. 9. NEW BUSINESS A. Election of Officers Elections were held with the following results: Phil Plummer - Chair John McMillin - Vice-Chair 10. COMMISSION REPORTS . Chair PLUMMER introduced Kim Stewart and Jerry Scezney and welcomed them as new members of the Planning Commission. . Commissioner WESLEY announced that he will be out of town and will be unable to attend the April Commission meetings and possibly the first meeting in May. . Commissioner McMILLIN has been working with Commissioner PLUMMER to research lighting standards for the city and suggested that their [mdings be presented for the Commission's consideration at the April 15th meeting. It was also suggested that Commissioners read the article regarding Dark Skies Association as well as the model ordinance this organization is developing. 11. COMMITTEE AND DEPARTMENT REPORTS There were no committee and department reports. 12. ADJOURNMENT It was moved by Commissioner McNAMEE and seconded by Commissioner WESLEY to adjourn the meeting at 7: 5 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. \ Planning Commission March 18, 2004 Page 2
