Mayor Cerveny called the Liquor Authority Meeting to order at 7 00 p m Councilmembers
present, Don Eafanti, Janelle Shaver, Ken Siler, Ralph Mancinelli, Claudia Worth, Jerry
DiTullio, Lloyd Donnelly and Teri Dalbec. Also present; City Clerk, Wanda Sang, City
Manager, Robert Middaugh, City Attorney, Gerald Dahl, City Treasurer, Ron Patera, Chief of
Police, Jack Hurst and Director of Parks and Recreation, Gary Wardle
LOCAL LIQUOR AUTHORITY MATTERS
1) Application for a new Hotel & Restaurant Liquor License for "EL MEXICANO PARILLA
BAR" 4105 Wadsworth Blvd (1 Mile Radius Motion Only)
Motion by Mrs Dalbec to set a 1-mile radius and order a survey to establish the needs and
desires of the neighborhood, and further moved to set the public hearing date for February 17,
1998, seconded by Mr Eafanti, carried 5-4, Mayor broke the tie by voting yes.
2) Transfer of Ownership for LAKESIDE LIQUORS, 5820 W 44th Ave from Perry M
Morrone to Scott Madsen
Mr Madsen, Applicant, was present and answered questions
Motion by Mr Siler to approve the Transfer of Ownership from Perry M Morrone, dba
"Lakeside Liquors", 5820 W 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to Scott Madsen, for the
following reasons
1 All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid,
2 The applicant will be entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a signed lease
assignment dated December 13, 1997
3 The applicant has been investigated by the Police Department.

Mr Siler added the following condition
4 Applicant will not take over the premises until he and all employees have fully studied
the Liquor Code, and Mr Mansen can not open the store before January 28, 1998, and
that Mr Madsen will notify the City Clerk's Office once this condition is completed
5 Mr Mansen will attend Retail Liquor Store training from the City's Police Department
before license is renewed next year
Mr Mancinelli seconded, carried 8-0
Motion by Mrs Dalbec to add Item 3 - Request for a Show Cause Hearing, Pigskins Sports
Bar- to the agenda, seconded by Mr Siler; carried 8-0
Item 3. Request for a Show Cause Hearing - "Pigskins" Sports Bar

Chief Hurst distributed a Notice dated January 19, 1998 regarding an alleged Liquor Code
violation at Pigskins Sports Bar on December 12, 1997
Motion by Mrs. Worth that the Wheat Ridge Liquor Authority hold a Show Cause Hearing for
Pigskins Sports Bar, 10051 1-70 Service Road N , Wheat Ridge, CO to be held on February
17, 1998, seconded by Mr DiTullio, carried 8-0
Motion to adjourn, carried 8-0
