HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/13/1999LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MINUTES CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO 7500 W. 29th Avenue, Municipal Building May 13. 1999 The Liquor Authority Meeting was called to order by Chairman Wilde at 9 00 am Liquor Authority Members present: Dan Wilde, Harry Williams, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis, Rocco Gioso George Langdon was absent due to illness, Judith DiCroce was on vacation Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF March 11, 1999 Motion by Mr Williams for the approval of the Minutes of March 11, 1999, seconded by Mr Davis, carried 5-0 Item 1. Transfer of Ownership from Wilmore Liquors to Mi Liquors, Inc, 7777 West 38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge Applicant, Chuong Van Tran, was present and answered the Authority's questions He stated that he and his staff would be attending the liquor seminar offered by the Wheat Ridge Police Department. Motion by Mr Gioso to approve the Transfer of Ownership from VIV Inc., dba Wilmore Liquor, 7777 West 38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to Mi Liquors, Inc., for the following reasons, 1 All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid; 2. The applicant will be entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a signed lease assignment dated March 30, 1999; 3. The applicant has been cleared by the Police Department. With the following condition The owner and employees attend the liquor seminar offered by the Wheat Ridge Police Department; seconded by Mr Davis; carried 5-0. Transfer of Ownership from Circle K Stores, Inc. to Duke and Long Distributing Co, Inc Representatives for Duke and Long from the law firm of Dill and Dill, Lois Rentz and Rebecca Spencer, were present and answered the Authority's questions They stated that Duke and Long had a training program for their employees, but that the company wanted to comply with local regulations and they were sure that the employees would attend the seminar provided by the Wheat Ridge police department. They also stated they would make the name and phone number of the district representative available for our files Motion by Mr Davis to approve the Transfer of Ownership from Circle K Stores, Inc. to Duke and Long Distributing Co. Inc for the following reasons 1. All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid, 2. The applicant will be entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a signed lease assignment dated February 10, 1999, 3. The applicant has created a Master File with State. With the following condition that the employees attend the liquor seminar provided by the Wheat Ridge police department; seconded by Mr Williams; carried 5-0 The Authority asked that the chairman write a memo to the Chief of Police and ask for a schedule of seminars so that we can tell the applicants in the future when a seminar is being held, and to also provide the Authority with a roster of attendees, so we can determine if the promises of applicants are being followed through Motion by Mr Davis to adjourn, seconded by Mr Gioso, carried 5-0 Meeting adjourned at 9.22 a m Christa Jones, Deputy City Clerk APPROVED BY THE LIQUOR AUTHORITY ON MAY 27, 1999 BY A VOTE OF TO Dan Wilde, Chair
