HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/26/1999LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MINUTES CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO 7500 W. 29th Avenue, Municipal Building August 26. 1999 The Liquor Authority Meeting was called to order by Chairman Wilde at 9 00 a.m Liquor Authority Members present: Dan Wilde, Harry Williams, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis, George Langdon, Rocco Gioso, Judith DiCroce Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 12, 1999 Motion by Mr Williams for the approval of the Minutes of August 12, 1999, seconded by Mr Davis, carried 6-0 with Mr Langdon abstaining Item 1. Transfer of Ownership for Discount Liquors, 3910 Wadsworth Blvd , Wheat Ridge Christa Jones presented the staff report. Applicant Byung Man Yoo was present with an interpreter and his attorney It was established that he does not speak English very well, but he indicated that he can read and write English He further stated that he would hire English/Korean speaking employees and that he and his employees would attend the Wheat Ridge Police Department Liquor Training Seminar and look into attending classes held by the Restaurant Association Motion by Mr Davis to approve the Transfer of Ownership from Kim Kyu Yang, dba Discount Liquors, to Young Jae Corporation, for the following reasons 1 All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid, 2 The applicant will be entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a signed lease date June 15, 1999, 3 The applicants have been cleared by the Police Department; seconded by Mr Gioso, carried 7-0 LIQUOR AUTHORITY MINUTES August 26, 1999 Page -2- Motion by Mr Wilde to cancel the September 9, 1999 Liquor Authority Meeting, seconded by Mrs DiCroce, carried 7-0 Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, notified the Authority of a liquor violation at Clancy's Irish Pub, 10117 West 37th Place Clancy's is currently 44 days late in renewing their license Section 12-47-302 of the Colorado Liquor Code Motion by Mr Wilde to set a violation hearing for Clancy's Irish Pub for October 14, 1999 at 9 00 a.m and to instruct the City Attorney to prepare the necessary paperwork and to attend that meeting, seconded by Mrs DiCroce, carried 7-0 Motion by Mr Williams to adjourn, seconded by Mr Wilde, carried 7-0 Meeting adjourned at 9 45 a m Christa Jones, Deputy City Clerk APPROVED BY THE LIQUOR AUTHORITY ON October 14, 1999 BY A VOTE OF 6 TO O Dan Wilde, Chair
