The Liquor Authority Meeting was called to order by Chairman Davis at 9 00 a.m Liquor
Authority Members present: Robert Alldredge, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis, Laura Leprino,
Rocco Gioso and Judith DiCroce Dan Wilde was on vacation and William Snell was ill
Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, City Attorney, Linda Michow; and Chief of
Police, Jack Hurst.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF April 13, 2000
Motion by Mr Alldredge for approval of the Minutes of April 13, 2000, seconded by Mr
Sanzalone, carried 6-0
Item 1. Show Cause Hearing for Vern's Liquor, 7605 West 44th Avenue, Wheat Ridge
Christa Jones presented the staff report and outlined the Police Report alleged violation -
C R.S Section 12-47-901(1)(a)- which occurred on March 25, 2000
Ms Michow stated that the owners of Vern's Liquor will stipulate to the facts in the Police
Report.
Motion by Mrs Leprino to accept the stipulation and the Police Report into record, seconded
by Mr Alldredge, carried 6-0
Mr Ahn, interpreter for Hee Sook Lee, owner of Vern's Liquor, and Hee Sook Lee, were sworn
in by the Chair
A brief discussion followed
The Authority asked that Ms Lee attend liquor education class on June 13, 2000, as well as
other store employees
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to direct the City Attorney to prepare findings for this violation and
further moved to suspend the license for a period of 2 days, and 2 days suspension to be
waived if there are no other violations in the next 6 months, seconded by Mr Gioso, carried
6-0.

Item 2. Show Cause Hearing for Palancar Reef, 4400 Ward Road, Wheat Ridge
Christa Jones presented the staff report and outlined the alleged violations C R.S Section 12-
47-901 (1)(a) and Wheat Ridge Municipal Code Section 11 54 that occurred on February 5,
2000
City Attorney, Linda Michow opened by calling Officer Koback, sworn in by the Chair, who
recalled the events that occurred at the establishment that night.
Mary Jo Pendley, Manager/Bartender, and Susan Luke, Owner, were both sworn in by the
Chair Ms Pendley and Ms Luke presented the case for the Palancar Reef
Ms Michow made closing statements on the violations.
Motion by Mr Gioso to direct the City Attorney to prepare findings for both violations and to
suspend the license for Palancar Reef for a period of 3 days, with 2 days held in abeyance for
the next six months, and one day being served The dates be May 25, 26, and 27, 2000
The day served will be Thursday May 26, 2000 from 8 00 a m. until May 27, 2000 at 2 00
a.m , Mr Gioso further moved that Ms Pendley attend the Wheat Ridge liquor training session
on June 13, 2000; seconded by Mr Alldredge, carried 6-0.
Motion by Mr Sanzalone to adjourn, seconded by Mrs DiCroce, carried 6-0
Meeting adjourned at 10 40 a.m
