The Liquor Authority Meeting was called to order by Chairman Davis at 9 00 a m Liquor
Authority Members present: Karen Berry, Robert Alldredge, Frank Sanzalone, Kent Davis,
William Snell, William Peterson, and Judith DiCroce John Miks was absent; he is on
vacation Also present: Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF April 26, 2001
Motion by Mr Alldredge for the approval of the Minutes of April 26, 2001, seconded by Mr
Sanzalone, carried 6-0 with Mrs DiCroce abstaining (She had been absent at the meeting of
April 26)
Item 1. Application by St. Martin Society #134, Polish National Alliance, 11460 West 44th
Avenue, for a Special Events Permit to sell 3.2% Beer on June 10, 2001 from
12 00 noon to 6 00 p m and on August 19, 2001 from 12 00 noon to 6 00 p m
Christa Jones presented the staff report.
Applicant, John Fedorowicz, was present and asked for approval of the Special Events
Permits He explained that this is a non-profit organization and all the proceeds will go to
charity
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to approve the Special Events Permit for St. Martin Society #134,
11460 West 44th Avenue, to dispense fermented Malt Beverage (3.2% beer) on June 10, 2001
from 12 00 p m to 6 00 p m and on August 19, 2001 from 12 00 p m to 6 00 p m , seconded
by Mr Alldredge, carried 7-0

Item 2. Transfer of Ownership from Mi Liquors, Inc, dba "Wilmore Liquors", 7777 West
38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, to Bustamante & Associates, Inc
Christa Jones presented the staff report.
Applicant, Banesa Bustamante, was present and asked for approval of the Transfer of
Ownership She stated that she had never worked in a liquor store before, but that the
present owner had gone over all the pertinent laws and paperwork with her, and that there
was a Colorado Liquor Code on the premises. The Authority asked her to take the liquor
education class offered by the Wheat Ridge Police Department and if she has any employees
they should also take the class
She further explained that the present owner would help her for approximately 2 weeks in the
store until she got the hang of it.
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to approve the Transfer of Ownership from Mi Liquors, Inc., dba
"Wilmore Liquors", 7777 West 38th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, to Bustamante & Associates for the
following reasons
1 All applications have been filed and fees have been paid
2 Applicant is in possession of the premises by virtue of a lease assignment dated March 29,
2001
3 Applicant has been cleared by the Police department;
seconded by Mr Sanzalone, carried 7-0
Item 3. Election of Chair
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to appoint Kent Davis as Chair of the Liquor Authority; seconded by
Mr Snell, carried 7-0
Item 4. Election of Vice Chair
Motion by Mr Davis to appoint Judith DiCroce as Vice Chair of the Liquor Authority;
seconded by Mr Alldredge, carried 7-0

Chairman Davis informed the Authority that he had been contacted by phone and fax on May
9 by a Diana Read concerning a Wine Tasting at Applejack Liquors, that was to take place on
May 19 The fax also included a copy of a Colorado Limited Winery Wine Festival Permit
Application The application requires a notice to the local licensing authority at least 10
business days prior to the event, which was not provided It further asks for premises use
authorization, which was not included with the fax.
Christa Jones had also spoken to Diana Read and had asked her to appear before the
Authority to answer their questions and concerns Ms Read stated that she was on the
Western Slope and could not attend the meeting
Authority Members had many questions regarding exactly where the wine was to be served,
who would serve it, was there a safeguard as to people not walking away with the wine, was
there a safeguard as to minors drinking the wine They wanted input from the State Liquor
Enforcement Division, as well as our City Attorney prior to agreeing to the permit.
Motion by Mr Snell to let Mr Davis handle this matter after getting input from the City Attorney
and the State and for the Authority to back his decision, seconded by Mr Alldredge,
carried 7-0
Motion by Mr Sanzalone to adjourn, seconded by Mr Snell, carried 7-0
