LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY MEETING

July 8, 2004
The Liquor Authority Meeting of July 8, 2004 was called to order by Chairman
Miks at 9.00 a.m Liquor Authority Members present: Robert Alldredge, Frank
Sanzalone, Kent Davis, John Miks, Anthony Davia, Judith DiCroce Lloyd
Donnelly and Brenda Locricchio were absent. Also present: Deputy City Clerk,
Christa Jones
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF June 24, 2004
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to approve the Minutes of June 24, 2004, seconded by
Mr. Davia, carried 5 in favor; Mr Alldredge abstaining
Item 1. Public Hearing on application for a new Tavern Liquor License for
Key West Lounge and Supper Club, Inc., d b.a. "Key West Lounge
and Supper Club", 10151 West 26th Avenue, Basement, Wheat
Ridge, Colorado.
Deputy City Clerk, Christa Jones, presented the staff report.
Applicants Troy Cucarola and Paul McLaughlin were present and answered
the Liquor Authority's questions They stated that they would run a Sports Bar
with pool tables, juke box, video games and perhaps either a dart board or
putting green Their seating capacity is 99 They are planning to employ 2
cooks, several bartenders and wait staff and one of the owners will be on the
premises during their hours of operation, which will be from 11 00 a m, to
midnight.
Mr Davis expressed concerns regarding the financing, felt that the applicants did
not have enough Capital for a successful business

Motion by Mr Alldredge to approve the application for a new Tavern Liquor
License for Key West Lounge and Supper Club, Inc., d b a "Key West Lounge
and Supper Club'", 10151 West 26t' Avenue, Basement, Wheat Ridge, Colorado,
for the following reasons
(1) All applications and fees required by statute have been filed and paid.
(2) Notice of hearing and posting of the premises have been accomplished
according to statutory requirements
(3) The applicants are entitled to occupancy of the premises by virtue of a
signed sublease, dated 5/26/04 and resigned on July 6, 2004
(4) The applicants have been cleared by the Police Department.
(4) At the public hearing of July 8, 2004 nobody appeared in opposition to
issuance of this license
Seconded by Mr Sanzalone, carried 6-0

The Liquor Authority was pleased with the attendance at the Class.
Copy of Council Bill 12 - An Ordinance permitting Alcohol Beverage Tastings
Discussion was that this Council Bill will come before City Council on second
reading on July 12. Authority Members Davis, DiCroce, Miks and Sanzalone
were against the passage of this Bill. Members Alldredge and Davia felt that this
would put Wheat Ridge businesses on competitive ground with other
jurisdictions. The Authority will be able to put limits and restrictions on the
tastings in addition to the rules imposed by State Law
Motion by Mrs DiCroce to call for a consensus to have the Chair call all
Councilmembers and express the Liquor Authority's opinion on this Council Bill;
seconded by Mr Davis, carried 6-0

Consensus was 4-2 to have Mr Miks call all Councilmembers and state that 2
Liquor Authority members were absent, that 4 members are against the Council
Bill and don't want it passed and that 2 members, Mr Alldredge and Mr Davia,
are in favor of passage of Council Bill 12.
Meeting adjourned at 9 55 a m.
