MIDROOF & SHEATHING: Effective December 1, 2014, asphalt shingle installations require an approved mid -roof inspection, conducted when 25-750 of the roof covering is installed, prior to final approval. Installation of roof sheathing (new or overlay) is required on the entire roof when spaced or board sheathing with ANY gap exceeding one half inch exists. The open holes in the front roof section by the dormers allow for water penetration causing electrical safety concerns, such as short circuits, which can cause a fire, or short circuits resulting in smoke detectors malfunction. The damaged section or the entire roof repaired to stop the penetration of water. The rear of the home has plastic tarps covering the waste vent pipes. This condition can trap methane gas released from these pipes causing harm to the occupants of the home. Please correct the venting issue with the waste pipes. Section 108.1.543 Dangerous structure or premises. The barn located to the rear of the property has sustained fire damage to the roof. The compromised roof system needs repair to prevent collapsing and to eliminate water penetration to the interior of the structure damaging the contents. If the roof structure is irreparable to a safe condition, the roof structure must be removed to prevent possible injury due to collapse. INTENT 2012 IPMC Section 101.3. This code shall be construed to secure its expressed intent, which is to ensure public health, safety and welfare in so far as they are affected by the continued occupancy and maintenance of structure's and premises.
