The reports indicate that the special inspector from Cole Gamer observed as the tendons were stressed using the following equipment: Ram No. PT Jacks & Accessories 2018-020 (#210) Gauge No. McDaniel (#210), 10,000 PSI, 4" Pump No. SPX Power Team, S/N 376088 (#210) The equipment was last calibrated on April 15, 2020. The corresponding stressing gauge pressure is 5,440 pounds per square inch when applying 33 kips of tension to the tendon. A copy of the associated calibration curve was provided to our office for our records and review. Based on the Post -Tension Stressing Report it appears several of the tendons did not meet the code allowed plus or minus 10% deviation. The tendons have been fully stressed to 33 kips twice already. There is a real risk of breaking tendons if the tendons are fully stressed a third time, which would result in a more significant problem than our current situation. Per section 9.4, Recording of the Construction and Maintenance Manual for Post -Tensioned Slab -on -Ground Foundations. Number 5 indicates "If the measured elongations do not fall within the allowable variance, discontinue stressing until the cause has been identified and a solution resolved" Our office highly recommends the steps and procedures as outlined in the Construction and Maintenance Manual for Post -Tensioned Slab -on -Ground Foundations be followed. In this specific case, when the tendons were not achieving the specified elongations, stressing operations should have stopped so that the cause could be ascertained prior to stressing other tendons. Our office has re -analyzed the slab considering the non -conforming elongations. Based on our analysis, the foundation will support the code required dead and live loads. However, please note that as a result of lower than expected average total elongation there is a reduced ability to predict the performance of the foundation in this pour. Ownership should be prepared for cracks to develop within this portion of the Building 2, Pour 1. Should they occur, our office recommends they be monitored and injected with structural epoxy so that moisture will not infiltrate the slab. Our office recommends using a structural epoxy applied per the manufacturers' specification to repair all cracks. The manufacturer should be contacted directly to determine the appropriate product and the life span of this product including guarantees and warranties. Submittals indicating the materials to be used should be submitted to our office for review prior to installation. Based on our review of the stressing records provided by Cole Gamer Geotechnical it is our opinion that the tendons indicated in the stressing records have been properly stressed and can be burnt off to a distance of 1/4" inside the exterior surface of the concrete.
