In combustible construction, flreblocking shall be provided to cut off all concealed draft openings (both vertical and horizontal) and to form an effective fire barrier between stories, and between a top story and the roof space. The new beam was installed to sit on top of the double 2x4 rap plate of the garage with a 2x4 stud pack under the beam that carries the load to the foundation. It is CES's Professional Engineering determination that the installation of the new Steel I -Beam is structurally sound and no other connection of the I -Beam to the two (2) top plates is required to secure the beam.
