Project Concept An exterior renovation of the existing Applejack Wine & Spirits retail building within the Applewood Village Development. The building will remain the same size as current use and will not require a change to parking or site beyond the immediate sidewalks adjacent to the construction. Architecture Exterior Architecture Exterior building renovation occurs largely at the main entry at the northeast corner of the building. The upgrade will enhance the building's cosmetics with new exterior skin and signage, and will pronounce the entry with an elevated overhanging canopy — replacing the low mansard roof structure. The new canopy opens up the entry area to more natural light, air flow, and warmth with a new wood soffit and stimulating lighting. A new building skin comprised of metal panel wraps the existing CMU, while a durable fiber cement panel provides a distinct field material which corresponds to contextual counterparts. On the roof, RTU's serving the Warehouse will be replaced to meet code standards. Overall, the facelift delivers a modern aesthetic, coating Applejack's historical roots and deepening their identity within the recently renovated Applewood Village. Landscape/Open Space No landscape improvements are planned for this proposed fagade project. Roadway/Access Vehicular access to the site will not change as part of this proposed fagade project. Grading, Drainage And Utilities Grading, drainage or utilities will not change to the site as part of this proposed fagade project. Signage It is the intent to update the building signage as part of this renovation. We would like to discuss this process and the signage constraints as part of the pre -application meeting. The iconic existing post sign will not be included within the renovation. Lighting It is the intent of the project to upgrade and enhance lighting within the building fagade and vestibule. Some lighting is also included in the interior package. There is no intent to update the existing site lighting within the Applewood Village Development. Proposed construction timing The project intends to submit to the building department as soon as the entitlement process is complete. Once permit is approved construction will begin and hope to be completed within 4-5 months. Interior improvements will happen separately and is intended to begin prior to the exterior work.
