The meeting was called to order at 4:00 p.m. by Chair BRUNGARDT in the City Council
Chambers of the Municipal Building, 7500 West 29"' Avenue, Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

It was moved by Gayle Miller and seconded by Katie Vanderveen to approve the
minutes of April 24, 2012 as written. Motion carried 5-0.
There were no officers reports.
No members of the public wished to address the Commission at this time.

Housing Authority Minutes - 1 — June 26, 2012
Betty Maybin reported that the Nelson Street property is under contract for
$164,500. The Moore Street property is under contract for $179,900. Closings
are scheduled to take place in July.

Notices were sent to tenants of the three remaining properties advising them of a
moving date of July 27. Two of the three tenants have already found other places
to live. Construction on these properties should be able to start in September.
Betty Maybin distributed information on possible rehab properties on Chase,
Marshall and Garrison Streets. Cornerstone Realty sent a letter to the owner of
the Chase Street property indicating interest by the Housing Authority but has not
yet received a response. Cheryl suggested another house on Chase Street for
Cornerstone Realty to look into.
Sally Payne reported that SLATERPAULL Architects should complete their
structural assessment on the Fruitdale Building by fall. They will provide an
estimate of what it would take to bring the building up to code.
The State Historic Fund will be accepting grant applications in the fall that would
cover design and planning work and would allow architects and potential
developers to take a look at the building. The Authority gave direction to staff to
make application for this grant.
Colorado Preservation, Inc. met the submittal deadline to the State Review Board
to nominate the Fruitdale Building for National Historic designation. The Board
will review the application and make a decision at its September meeting as to
whether they will forward it to the National Park Service which is the entity that
makes the actual designation.

Sally Payne reported that she had opportunity to tour the restored Emerson School
building at 1420 Ogden. SLATTERPAUL served as architect for this project.
She reviewed copies of a power point presentation regarding the restoration
process of this historic building

Sally Payne reminded Authority members to RSVP to Kathy Field regarding their
attendance at meetings.
• Several members indicated they would be unable to attend the July 24"' meeting. It
was moved by Joe DeMott and seconded by Katie Vanderveen to move the July
24' meeting to July 31"'.
Gayle Miller reported on her attendance at the NAHRO Conference. She will bri
information to Kathy Field who will make copies for Authority members. I
