7500 West 29th Avenue, Municipal Building December 3, 2024
1. Call to Order
This meeting was held in person, in the city council chambers located at 7500 W. 29th
Avenue, Wheat Ridge Colorado 80033. Hearing Officer Katharine Vera called the
Liquor Authority Meeting to order at 10:00 AM.
Also Present: Deputy City Clerk Robin Eaton; Margy Greer, Sr. Deputy City Clerk 2. New Application for a new Brewpub Liquor License – The Werks, LLC. dba The Werks, located at 2629 W. 26th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80215 Hearing Officer Katharine Vera opened the public hearing Staff Report Deputy City Clerk Eaton gave the findings for the staff report and entered Exhibits 1-6 into the record, showing the applicant has fulfilled all of the requirements to hold a new Brewpub Liquor license.
Hearing Officer Katharine Vera asked if the applicants would like to give testimony, where they agreed, and were sworn in. Robert Runco, the Attorney for the applicant and Member Paul Porter gave testimony to the type of facility the brewpub would be, given their motto is Bikes, Brews and Bowling,
with a 6-lane bowling alley that can be reserved. They spoke on the amount of people who would be working, the types of food, and the types of training that will be required, with a no tolerance policy for unlawful alcohol sales.
Hearing Officer Katharine Vera asked for anyone wishing to speak on the item. There were none. Hearing Officer Katharine Vera closed the public hearing.
Hearing Officer Katharine Vera chose to approve the issuance of an Application for a new Brewpub Liquor License – The Werks, LLC. dba The Werks, located at 2629 W. 26th Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80215 on the basis of the following findings:
1. Public Notice of the hearing on the Application was published and posted on the property as required by Colorado law;
2. The applicant is qualified to obtain a liquor license pursuant to C.R.S. Section 44-
3-307; 3. The premises are in a location eligible to conduct the proposed liquor licensed business pursuant to C.R.S. Section 44-3-313 and the zoning laws of the City; 4. The applicant is entitled to possession of the premises for which the application
is made;
5. The neighborhood under consideration is considered to be within a one-half mile circumference around the proposed licensed premises; 6. The inhabitants of the neighborhood desire an additional establishment that serves liquor;
7. The needs of the neighborhood are not met by the existing outlets.
3. New Application for a new Fermented Malt Beverage and Wine Liquor License – TA Operating LLC. dba TA Wheat Ridge, located at 12151 W. 44th
Avenue, Wheat Ridge, CO, 80033 Hearing Officer Katharine Vera opened the public hearing Staff Report
Deputy City Clerk Eaton gave the findings for the staff report and entered Exhibits 1-6 into the record, showing the applicant has fulfilled all of the requirements to hold a new Retail Fermented Malt Beverage and Wine Liquor license.
Hearing Officer Katharine Vera asked if the applicants would like to give testimony, and was sworn in. Facility Manager Brandy Brenkman spoke on behalf of the applying entity stating that the alcohol sales would be limited to a locked cooler that would only be accessible by
trained staff. The staff would be taking when new, as well as during weekly training sessions. Hearing Officer Katharine Vera asked for anyone wishing to speak on the item. There were none.

4. Adjournment There being no further business to come before the Authority, Hearing Officer Katharine Vera adjourned the meeting at 10:35 AM.
