HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026 - RESO 08 - Auto Vehicle Identificaiton ServicesCITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO RESOLUTION NO. 08 SERIES OF 2026 TITLE: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2025 GENERAL FUND BUDGET TO REFLECT THE APPROVAL OF A SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET APPROPRIATION IN THE AMOUNT OF $423,775 FOR AUTOMATED VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION SERVICES WHEREAS, traffic issues, primarily excessive speeds and red-light violations are recurrent complaints and concerns from the residents of Wheat Ridge; and WHEREAS, in response to these complaints and concerns, and to create safer roadways for the citizens of Wheat Ridge, Wheat Ridge Police Department worked with Altumint, Incorporated to provide automated vehicle identification services (AVIS) and build a program that would meet the needs of the City; and WHEREAS, on October 28, 2024, the City Council approved a service agreement with Altumint, Incorporated to provide AVIS to the City; and WHEREAS, while the City does not incur direct out of pocket costs for this program, the City is required to recognize the full cost of implementing the AVIS program within the adopted budget; and WHEREAS, the total cost of the AVIS program to the City during Fiscal Year 2025 was $423,775, which includes violation processing fees and a monthly paydown for initial implementation costs; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that amending the Fiscal Year 2025 General Fund Budget to reflect this supplemental appropriation is necessary and appropriate to ensure accurate financial reporting and transparency. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO THAT: Section 1. A supplemental budget appropriation in the amount of $423,775 is hereby approved from General Fund undesignated reserves to account 100-70704-211.
