City Lffics at 7~~O Wast 33th Avenue.
Aldermen attending were: Ganc Bewling, Calvin HulsEY, Robert Howcrd
and Ray Peps. AldRrman ~8ck Brcmblo and Mayor Albert E. ~nd8rson
arrived later.
0thers attending were: Treasurer James Malone, ~lerk Louise Turner,
City Attorney Maurice Fox, Judge Anthony V. Zarlengo, and Walter
Johnson.
Alsu attending were applicants fOI, attorneys for and againct, opponents
of and numerous citizens interested in a Public Hearing which was called
to consider the application of Mr. George Sillasen and Mr. ~illard Ball
for a Package Liquor Store to be located at 41B4 Wadsworth Boulevard.
Approximately 35 people were present.
A separate and complete record of the Liquor hearing is on file. The
hearing was concluded at 10:00 p.m.
Motion was made bv AldermHn Bramble, Seconded by Alderman Bowling "that
the request fur a license for 3 retail package liquor store at 4184
Wadsworth Boulevard be token under advisement until Thursday, November 6
at 7:30 p.m." Motion passed 5-0. No further testimony will be heard
at that time.
James Jtone representing the ColoradO Building Code Commission, Inc.,
asked that the Council consider the merits of the commi?~ion's "Metro
Code" which is recommended by the Regional Council of Governments.
He explained that this is a code with explicit local adoptations for
wind velocity, snow load, earthquake action, etc., and that the UBe has
to be modified for each location.
The question of a Tenneco Jtore 3.2 Beer License Rene~,al at 32nd and
Youngfield was continued until November 6, 1969.
Alderman Robert Howard introduced Resolution H2~.
Motion was made by Alderman Howard "that Resolution #22--appropriating
funds already approved for the removal of tree limbs within the city--
be adopted." Motion was seconded by Alderman Hulsey and passed 5-0.
Alderman Hulsey stated that the trucks need to be sent into Ward 2 os
this area has not yet been touched. Walter Johnson reported that the
program is costing ~lUO.OO per day and that 250 loads of limbs ilave been
removed.
Alderman Bowling introduced Resolution #19 and made the following motion
"that Resolution JIg calling for City-~ounty cooperation in tho ti~nsfer
of responsibilities from County to City be adopted." Motion was seconded
by Alderman Pepe and passed 5-0.
Alderman Huward madE a motion "that Council adopt Resolution ,/24 allowing
ci tizens to decidE" by uir-i t8"=Tn ballot in November 196f/ lJJhether the C1 ty -
is to be headed by B full-time Mayor or 0 full-time adminiotrator."
Motion was seconded by Alderman Hulsey.
lDiscussion brought out that with an administrator, the Mayor would be
part time as the council is, that salorie= voted on would remain the
same for two (2) yeors, there woulG be a Full yesr to gear for such a
situation if the voterG preferred a City Manager, that the Arvada City
Manager is paid ~17,OOO and his administrative assistant is paid
~al,500.)
MotIon to adopt Resolution J~4 passed 5-U.

Motion to adopt Ordinance #4 on second reading passed 5-0.
Judge Zarlengo announced that the first municipal court session would
be held November l~, 1959.
