December 18, 1969
The twentieth regular fleeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council was
called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor pro-tem Dana Bowling in the
Wheat Ridge City offices at 7390 West 38th Avenue.
Adlermen attending: Dana Bowling, I~ay Pepe, Robert Eckhardt, and
Calvin Hulsey. Aldermon Howard arrived later.
Others attending were: Clerk, Louise F. Turner, Attorney Maurice
Fox, administrator Wal i,ar Johnson and attorneys and citizens
interested in Zoning Cuses ~Z-69-1 through WZ-69-5.
WZ-69-2 requested a change from C-l to 1-1 at the NW corner of West
48th Avenue and AllisOTf Street.
Applicants were Ralph Jacobson, Rudy Perk~ and John Keller and were
represented by Attorne\ F. Richard Hite.
Proposed use is: Who18sale sale, warehousing and storage of mining
and construction material and fabrication.
Motion waE made by Alderman Howard and seconded by Alderman Eckhardt
and passed 5-0 "that the rezoning requested in WZ-69-2 be approved
by the City Council." Alderman Bramble was absent.
Rezoning Case WZ-69-3 lhange was requested from R-2 to RC at 6390
West 44th Avenue. -
Applicant was George F. Crampton, represented by Attorney George
Holley.
Motion was made by Ray Pepe, seconded by Robert

Alderman Bowling introcuced Resolution #42 commending and offering
encouragement to Fred ~teinmark.
Motion was made by AldErman Bowling that Resolution #42 be approved
by the Council--secondEd by Adlerman Hulsey and passed 4-0. _ ~

Rezoning Case WZ-69-1 requested change from A-2 to 1-3 on 4 acres
at 5055 Tabor.~Jliccnt !.uas Mr. Calvin Kearn and case had come
before Council onC8 before at which time Wheat Ridge recommended
that the County give a~proval.
Motion was made by AldErman Hulsey "th2t the Council approve
rezoning of WZ-69-1 frem A-2 to 1-3 beccuse rezoning will allow full
use of the property and is compatable with surrounding zonings.
Motion was seconded by Alderman PepE and passed 4-0.
Resolution #37 was introduced by Aldermun Pepe and read. Motion was
made by Alder Pepe, seconded by Alderman Hulsey "that Resolution #37
calling for a safety advisory committee be adopted by the Council."
Passed 4-0.

Rezoning CaseWZ-69-4 'equested a change from R-2 and R-l to R-3A
at 6209 West 26th Avenue for the purpose of future building of
rental units. Applicant3 were Applegate, Mitchell and Stoll.
Motion was made by Ald:!rman PElpe and seconded by Alderman Howard
"that the request for "ezoning in case luZ-69-4 be denied for the
reason that the proposed rezoning conflicts with the land use plan
and does not provide sllfficient transition between existing land
use in the area." Mot on passed 4-0.
Rezoning Case WZ-69-5

Motion was made by Aldllrman Pcps and ssconded by Alderman Howard
"that -the rezoning reqllefJt in case uJZ-C,C]-5 be denied." Vote was
tied 2 to 2, Alderman IIl.llsey und Alderman Bowling voting "Nay"
and the motion died.
Motion was made by Alderman Hulsey "that the request for razoning in
case WZ-69-5 be tabled fDr 6 months. r1Dtion was seconded by Alderman
Bowling and passed 3-1, Alderman Pepe voting "nay".
Meeting was adjourned ;It 11 :30 p.m.
