HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/20/1970 MINUTES . I January 20, 1970 The twenty-fifth reyular meeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Albert E. Anderson in the Wheat Ridge Cit\ Office at 7390 West 38 Avenue. Aldermen attending Il8re: Ray C. Pepe, Joseph Donaldson, Robert Howard, Calvin HulsBV, Dana Bowling and Jack W. Bramble. Also attending were Mayor Anderson, Clerk Louise Turner, Treasurer James Malone, Adminjstrator Walter Johnson and citizens. Treasurer report waf given by James Malone and is on file in the general file. Report on the City ~treet Program was given by Mr. Clyde Hobbs. He stated that if ir~urance details can be worked out the City may be able to rent a truck from the County until the eity truck arrives, and that gravel mGY be purchased from the County Pit - for $O.~O per ton. Motion was made by ~lderman Pepe and seconded by Alderman Bramble "that Council appro\e the purchase of additional equipment in the amount of $20. for E heavy duty olutch and heavy duty front end for the city dum~ truck." Motion passed 6-0. Motion was made by Ilderman Pepe "that Council authorize Mr. Hobbs to proceed to rent c' dump truck from the County if possible, if not, to proceed to rent one at similar rates from a private company and to use the County source of cold patch and gravel at 44 Avenue and McIntyre." Motion was seconded by Alderman Bramble. Alderman Hulsey recGmmende~ the motjon be amended to include "that Mr. Hobbs als[ be authorized to obtain additional equipment as needed on a rentel basis and report to Council as it is ob- tained." Amendment of the mution was approved and motion passed 6-0. Council set 6:31J p.lT. on January 29, 1970 as a time for State Representative George Fentress and State Senator Ruth Stockton to discuss bills pending in the House and Ssnate which might affect Wheat Ridge. An alternate delte of February 5, 1970 at 7:30 p.m. was al=D seto Procedure for the r~mDval of junk cars was discussed and Alderman Pepe requested that action be taken immediately to instigate the removal of cars at 29 Avenue and Fenton.
