Case WZ-7o-2 requesting a change from R~3A to R-3 at 3655 Kipling Street
to build apartments was brought up. Representing K & R Development Corp-
oration was Ken R. Petch. Also present was owner of the property and
president of the corporation Wayne D. Remington of 15050 West 82 Avenue,
Golden.
It was brought up that the property had been posted impToperly with the
wrong date on both signs, and one had been corrected.
Attorney Maurice Fox stated the property should be properly posted, and
that the property could be reposted for an additional hearing but that
the owner's case could be heard tonight, if it was desired by Counsil.
The following Motion was made by Alderman Hulsey "I move that Council
hear the owner's testimony tonight and that a hearing for additional,
and opposing testimony be set for May 12, 1970 after proper publication
and posting." Motion was seconded by Alderman Bramble and passed 4-2
with Aldermem Pepe and Howard voting "nay."
The applicant stated that R-3A zoning allowed twelve unit apartments
but under R-3 zoning eighteen to twenty units would be allowed an8
that the larger unit is economically feasible and allo~Js higher professional
management and adequate maintenance; that Kipling Street is in the process
of being widened and that low density zoning is not usual along major
thoroughfares, and that developed property would bring higher income through
taxes.
Planning Commission had ruled the case be tabled indefinitely because
the owner and the applicant had failed to appear and neighbors had
appeared to register protest.
The following Motio~ was by Alderman Bramble "I move that Case WZ-70-2
be tabled until May 12, 1970 at 7 30 p.m. at 7390 West 38 Avenue for
a further hearing." Motion was seconded by Alderman Bowling and passed 6-0.
The following Motion was made by Alderman Bramble "I move that Council
grant permission for the hiring of a mechanic at Grade 9 Step A or B
or approximately $575.00 per month." Mo~ion was seconded by Alderman
Donaldson and passed 6-0.
Alderman Bramble stated his reason for the above Motion was because of
the money that was spent on maintenance of patrol cars now, and that it
would be increased with the purchase of more cars.
L
It was brought up that several groups had helped in the tree limb
removal project last fall and commitments to pay these groups in
the form of donations had been made.
