Thp for y-ninth regular meeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council
was called to order bl' Mayor Albert E. Anderson in the Council M88tin~
Room at 7390 West 3e Avenue at 7 30 p.m.
Aldermen attending were Dana Bowling, Jack Bramble, Joseph Donaldson,
Hobert Howard, Calvin Hulsey and Ray Pepo.
Others attending were

Rezoning Case WZ-70-7
MAyor Anderson, Clerk Louise Turner, Assistant
Planning Director James Mier, Applicant for
and interested citizens.
Renewal of three 3.2 ReEr Package Retail Licenses was brought up for
approval.
Motion by Alderman Pepe "I move that Council approve the renewal of
the following three 3.2 Beer Package Retail Licenses
Hillcrest Country Market at 7685 West 44 Avenue
7-11 Store No. 7 at 9130 West 44 Avenue and
Safeway Store No. 232 at 7175 West 44 Avenue."
Motion was seconded by Alderman Hulsey and passed 6-0.
Rezoning Case WZ-70-7 Applicant Harold Tucker of Custom Builders
requested a change from R-2 and A-1 to R-3 and R-3A at Simms Street
and Swadley Street south of 1-70 for the purpose of building doubles
on 75 fODt lots and multiple units as a buffer between the doubles
and 1-70.
Mr. James Mier of the Planning Department recommended approval pro-
vided the request was modified to R-3A and that a strip along the
road was deeded to the City.
The following citizens spoke in opposition to the proposal

Bruce Jurney of 4675 Swadley
Tex Jinker of 4615 Swadley

Charles Rimbert of 4665 Swadley.
The main concern was overcrowding of the area and making worse an
already bad traffic problem.
Motion by Alderman Pepe "I move that Rezoning Case WZ-70-7 requesting
a change from R-2 and A-1 to R-3A be tabled for one week with a decision
to be given at 7 30 p.m. on May 12, 1970.>>
Mayor requested that the app!icant, if he so desired, change the
request on the original appl~cation to read R-3A rather than R-3
and R-3A. This was done and the Motion was accepted.
Motion was seconded by Alderman Bowling and passed 6-0.
Meeting was adjourned at 9 00 p.m.

A public Hearing on Ordinance No. 28 was called to order by Alderman
Dana Bowling at 9 15 p.m. in the Council Meeting Room.
Attending were Aldermen
Donaldson. Clerk Louise
No. 28 also attended.
Dana Bowling, Robert Howard, and Joseph
Turner and citizens interested in Ordinance
Comments were made by the following people in opposition to the
Ordinance
Mr. Charles Corliss of the Direct Sales Association
Mrs. Sprague of Avon
Leonard Youngwirth of 3257 Pierce
Larry Flanagan of Fuller Brush Company.
Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was Mrs. Elaine Behr of 2674 Lamar.
The matter will be studied further and the Ordinance will be presented
for reading on May 7, 1970.
Meeting was adjourned at 10 30 p.m.
