The fifty-sixth regular meeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council
was called to order at 7 30 P m in the Council Meeting Room at
7390 West 38 Avenue by Mayor Albert E. Anderson
Aldermen attending were Dana Bowling, Jack Bramble, Joseph Don-
aldson, Robert Howard, Calvin Hulsey and Ray Pepe.
Others attending were Mayor Anderson, Clerk Louise F. Turner, Ad-
ministrator Walter Johnson, City Attorney Maurice Fox, and interested
citizens
Reverend John Mc Elderry stated that the County Commissioners were
not present because they felt they should not come without an in-
vitation from the Council
Citizens' comments were made by
1 Reverend Mc Elderry who inquired about the binding effect
of a Civil Service System for Police
2. Arthur Lang of 35 Avenue and Ward Road and James Mosely
of 11325 West 40 Drive who expressed the opinion that Council was not
following the intent of citizens and the incorporators and
3 E D Mattox of 4050 Zephyr Drive and Howard Jaidinger
of 6845 West 36 Place and Mrs Kenneth Behr of 2674 Lamar who supported
the Council's decision to form its own police force
Resolution No. 67 pertaining to a Police Chaplaincy was introduced by
Alderman Bramble
Motion by Alderman Bowling "I move that Resolution No. 67 pertaining
to a Police Chaplaincy and introduced by Alderman Bramble be approved "
Motion was seconded by Alderman Donaldson and passed 6-0.
Motion by Alderman Bramble "I move that two cars be approved for
purchase on bid from Lakewood Fordland in the amount of $2,256 48
each" Motion was seconded by Alderman Hulsey and passed 5-0.
Meeting was adjourned at 9 00 P m.
