July 9, 1970
The sixty-fifth regular meeting
was called to order at 7 30 P m
by Mayor Pro Tem Dana Bowling
of the Wheat Ridge City Council
in the Council Meeting Room
Aldermen attending were Dana Bowling, Joseph Donaldson, Robert
Howard and Ray Pepe Alderman Jack Bramble and Calvin Hulsey were
absent.
Others attending were Clerk Louise Turner, City Attorney Maurice
Fox, Director of Administrative Services Walter Johnson, and in-
terested citizens
Resolution No 79 pertaining to limiting the use of a piece of pro-
perty deeded to the City by Craddock Development Company for road
purposes only was introduced by Alderman Donaldson and read
Motion by Alderman Howard "I move that Resolution No 79 be approved "
Motion was seconded by Alderman Donladson and passed 4-0.
In regard to the transfer of a liquor license for Woods Super Market,
City Attorney Maurice Fox stated that there would be no transfer and
that the application would be for a new license and that the sale
of beer at that location will cease on July 13, 1970 and will resume
when a new license is in effect
Motion by Alderman Donaldson "I move that the rezoning requested
in Case WZ-7o-17 by Lutheran Hospital from A-1 to H-2 be approved."
Motion was seconded by Alderman Howard and passed 4-0.
Ordinance No 50 pertaining to weeds was discussed A letter from
Mr. and Mrs. George Cook who felt an Ordinance prohibiting dumping
on private property should preceed an Ordinance controlling weeds,
was read and is attached to the Minutes.
Motion by Alderman Donaldson "I move that Ordinance No. 50 per-
taining to weeds be tabled until July 23, 1970." Motion was seconded
by Alderman Howard and passed 4-0.
Citizen's comments favoring weed control were made by Mr C.W Clark
of 10385 West 34 Place.
Meeting was adjourned, then reconvened to conduct a preliminary hearing
for a new 3 2 Beer Package Retail License for Mr. Bill Chisum of
Woods Super Market Mr Chisum was represented by Attorney Richard
Bangert.
Motion by Alderman Donaldson "I move that the applicant be required
to petition a neighborhood that is one mile radius from the location."
Motion was seconded by Alderman Pepe and passed 4-0
Motion by Alderman Pepe "I move that the public hearing for Woods
Super Market be August 13, 1970 at 7 30 p.m." Motion was seconded
by Alderman Howard and passed 4-0
Meeting was adjourned at 9 00 p.m

to Zoning

called for the purpose of studying an Ordinance
for Greenhouses was called to order at 7 30 p.m

Dana Bowling, Joseph Donaldson, Robert Howard,
Pepe Alderman Jack Bramble was absent
Also attending were Mayor Anderson, Clerk Louise Turner, gre8nhouse
owners and/or operators and others interested in the proposed Ordinance
The Mayor stated that the Ordinance had been prepared as a proposal
only, that it would set out a Greenhouse District, that it would allow
for expansion and for rebuilding of existing buildings which might
be destroyed and that rezoning would not be automatic but that own8rs
could apply for rezoning, if they chose to do so.

Points to be considered for possible revision before the Ordinance
is presented to Council were
1 Th8 two acre minimum
2 Allowing gravel in the parking areas for Wholesale Dealers.
3 Changing the name for the district to Restricted Resi-
dential
The Ordinance will be presented for first reading on July 16, 1970
