August 25, 1970
The seventy-third regular meeting of the Wheat Ridge City Council
was called to order by Mayor Albert E. Anderson at 7 30 p m in the
Council Meeting Room at 7390 West 38 Avenue
Aldermen present were Dana Bowling, Robert Howard, Calvin Hulsey
and Ray Pepe Aldermen Joseph Donaldson and Jack Bramble were absent
Others present were Mayor Anderson, Clerk Louise Turner, Treasurer
James Malone, City Attorney Maurice Fox, City Engineer Ralph Johnson
and interested citizens
Resolution No. 83 pertaining to the reassigning of monies within de-
partments was read The Treasurer explained that no change in the
total appropriation was involved
Motion by Alderman Howard "I move we approve Resolution No 83"
Motion was seconded by Alderman Bowling and passed 4-0 Aldermen
Bramble and Donaldson were absent
A letter requesting a taxi franchise was discussed.
Motion by Alderman Hulsey "I move that a public hearing on taxi
service be held on September 24, 1970" Motion was seconded by Ald-
erman Bowling
Motion was amended to read "that the matter of a taxi franchise be
taken under advisement pending a report by the City Attorney as to
procedure and at that time take further action" Amended Motion was
approved by the second and Motion passed 4-0
Resolution No 84 authorizing the Treasurer to withdraw up to $30,000.00
of invested funds and return the money to the General Fund was intro-
duced by Alderman Howard and read
Motion by Alderman Bowling "I move Resolution No 84 be approved."
Motion was seconded by Alderman Howard and passed 4-0
The Mayor presented to Mr Ralph Johnson one dollar
services of City Engineer as a dollar a year man.

Judge Anthony Zarlengo presented an addendum to the lease for space
at 7390 West 38 Avenue. The addendum pertained to space in what is now
a storeroom
Motion by Alderman Howard "I move that Council approve the addendum
to the existing lease between Jefferson Savings and Loan Association
and the City, and that the Mayor be authorized to sign the lease"
Motion was seconded by Alderman Hulsey and passed 4-0
Meeting was adjourned at 9 00 P m.
