HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance-1970-0024 - Amend WR Ord 10 - Building CodeIntroduced by Alderman A - ~ _ ORDINANCE NO.Q, Series of 1970 TITLE: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 10 OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE AS IT PERTAINS TO THE WHEAT RIDGE BUILDING CODE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY -COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE COLORADO, THAT: Section 1. Repeal. Article IV Section 7-24, A, 1. b., 2, 3, and 4, Permit Fees, as set out in the Primary Code, entitled the Arvada Building Code and designated Ordinance No. 750 of the Ordinances of the City of Arvada, Colorado, as passed on final reading February 3, 1969, and published in the Arvada Citizen on February 13, 1969, as adopted by Ordinance No. 10 of this City is hereby repealed in full so as to allow the amendment of said ordinance by the reenact- ment of said Article as set Out in this ordinance. Section 2. Reenactment. Article IV Section 7-24, A, 1. b., 2, 3, and 4, Permit Fees, is hereby reenacted in full as follows: 1. b. Permit Fees. Based upon the Valuation established above, permit fees shall be as follows: $00 to $50 $51 to $300 $301 to $1,000 $1,001 to $50,000 $50,001 to $500,000 over $500,000 $1.00 $3.00 $5.00 $5.00 plus $2.00 per $1,000 or fraction thereof $105 plus $1.00 per $1,000 or fraction thereof $605 plus $.75 per $1,000 or fraction thereof 2. Electrical Permit Fees. To be the same as above, except when State permits and inspec- tions are in force. Then the fees shall be as governed by the State Electrical Board. 3. Plumbin❑ Permit Fees. Residential and Commercial Installat qns shall be the same as in 1. b Commercial fees based on Actual Bid Amount 4. Heating and Ventilating Permit Fees. Resi- dential and Commercial Installatians shall be the same as in 1. b. Commercial fees based on Actual Bid Amount. Section 3. The National Electric Code,`1968.Edition adopted " as a secondary code by Ordinance No. 10 and apart of the Wheat Ridge Building Code, is hereby amended by the addition of a new subsection (9) to wit: Article 336-3 (9). in any building mousing more than two (2) families.. Section 4. Emergency-Clause. The provisions of this- Ordinance are necessary to theimmediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens gf_the City of Wheat.Ridge = for the following reasons:_ A. An inequality in fees presently exist in th fee schedule originally adopted by the Building Code Ordinance. B. Non-metalic sheathed cable may not provide adequate safety on certain, uses. C. The-City having jest"completed incorporation August 20, 1969, as not heretofore had an opportunity to review - and establish equitable fee.schedules or rules concerning the use of non-metalic sheathed electrical cable. Section 5. Effective Date' This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five (5) days after publication following final passage providing it shall have been passed by an affirmative vote of three-fourths_,(3/4) of the members of the City Council; otherwise said ordinance shall take effect.-thirty-(_30)-da4ys after' publication following final passage.
