TITLE: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY-OF WHEAT RIDGE ORDINANCE N .
RELATING-TO SALES TAX BY PROVIDING FOR A DEDUCTION BY RETAILERS
AND VENDORS TO COVER THEIR EXPENSES OF COLLECTION AND REMITTANCE
OF SAID TAX.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE,
COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. City of Wheat Ridge Ordinance No. 3 is Here-
by Amended by Adding a New Subsection, i.e.: Section 13, thereto
as follows:
Section 13. Deduction by Retailer Or Vendor.
Every retailer or vendor may deduct 3-1%3% (three and
one-third) per cent of the amount of tax to be paid
by him to the Director of Revenue under this.Ordinance
to cover.,his expense of Collection and remittance of the
tax.
Section 2. Except as expressly amended herein, all of the
terms-and provision of Ordinance No. 3, as amended, shall remain in
full force and effect.
Section 3. Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force five
days after publication following final. passage, providing it shall
have been passed by an affirmative vote of three-fourths (3/4) of
the members of the City Council; otherwise, said ordinance shall take-
effect thirty (30) days after publication following final passage:-
Section 4. -Emergency Clause. ,
The provisions of .this_Ordinance are necessary for the im-
mediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare of the
City for the following reasons;-
1. No ordinance has been previously passed relating
to providing for a deduction by retailers and
vendors to cover their expenses of collection and
remittance of said tax.

2. No or has been passed previously as the
City completed incorporation August 20, 1969,
and no ordinance relating to providing for a
deductign.,by retailers-and__vendors to cover
their expenses of collection and remittance
of said„tax„existed at, this time; and the City
has not yet had, an opportunity to pass such an
ordinance relating to providing for a deduction
by retailers and vendors to cover their expenses
of collection and remittance.af said tax.
