TITLE: AN ORDINANCE-AMENDING SECTION-8 _A* CHARTS-ATTACHEV TO SECTION
11, ORDINANCE _42, SERIES OF 1970, RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CITY
DEPARTMENTS OR OFFICES AND LINES OF AUTHORITY.--
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO,
THAT:
Section 1. Repealing Clause.
Section 8 of Ordinance No. 42 and the Organizational Chart
attached to Section 11 are hereby repealed in full.
Section 2. Reenaoting Clause.
Functions. Section 8 of Ordinance 42 is hereby reenacted _
as follows:

"Section
A. City Planning Department.
A City Planning Department to be headed by a director
of planning is organized to accomplish the following functions as
assigned or provided by Statutes:
1. Preparing all general City plans which affect
more than one City department (includes
authority to task all other City departments
for inputs to these plans).
2. Providing guidance to the City Planning
Commission on all matters relating to
planning and zoning.
3. Supporting the City Planning Commission
position to the Board of Adjustment and
City Council.
4. Reviewing and processing of all matters
relating to annexation.
5. Reviewing and processing subdivision plats
in preliminary and final form and assigning,
addresses in platted and unplatted areas.
6. In coordination with the City Engineer,
processing.all matters relating to streets
easements, right of way, and changes of
street names and preparing inputs for any

7. Processing all-matters relating to rezoning,

B. Building Department.
A .,Building Department, to be headed by the Chief Building
Inspector, `is'`arganrzed to accdm`p'lish the following functions as assigned
or provided by Statutes:
1. :Administration of `private building program and
handling or supervising inspections.
2. Checking.or causing to be checkedthe plans of
builders. _
3. Delivering talks on building safety and
construction regulations.
4. Preparing complaints for legal action against
violators of the building codes and zoning
codea.
5. Checking the quality of construction material.
6. Determining the qualification of contractors
for licenses and advising the.Mayor on issuance
ofsaid licenses.
7. Forwarding to the State Electrical Board the
list of all licensed electricians as long as
the State handles electrical inspection.

Section 4. Effective Date.
This Ordinance shall -_take _effect- and be. in, force five (5).
days after publication following final passage providing it shall
have been passedby an affirmative vote of three-fqurths_(3/4) of.,
the members of the.City Council, otherwise, said Ordinance shall take
effect thirty (3Q) days) after publication following final passage.
Section 5. Validity Clause.
Except as expressly amended herein, all of the terms and
provisions of Ordinance No. 46,.as amended, shall remain in full
force and effect.
