ORDINANCE NO. 244
Series of 1977
TITLE: AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 195, SERIES OF 1975;
AND FURTHER TO REVISE AND ESTABLISH THE SALARY OF THE CITY
CLERK OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, THAT:
Section 1. The salary for the City Clerk for the period beginning August 1,
1977, shall be One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) per month.
Section 2. Emergency Clause.
The provisions of this Ordinance are necessary for the preser-
vation of the public health and safety of the citizens of Wheat
Ridge for the following reasons:
(1) The adoption of the new pay scale for the City Clerk author-
ized under this Ordinance is considered of vital public
interest;
(2) The salary change is justified as soon as possible to more
accurately reflect the adopted prevailing wage policy of
the City; and
(3) The revised salary schedule has a direct bearing on employee
productivity and morale, and is, therefore, in the public
interest for immediate implementation.
Section 3. Effective Date for this Ordinance.
This Ordinance shall be retroactive to August 1, 1977, and shall
take effect and be in force immediately after publication follow-
ing final passage providing it shall have been passed by an
affirmative vote of three-fourths (3/4) of the members of the City
Council. Otherwise, said Ordinance shall take effect thirty (30)
days after publication following final passage.
