MINUTES
October 26, 1972
The one hundred and seventy-ninth regular meeting of the Wheat Ridge
City Council was called to order at 7 35 p.m. at 7390 West 38 Avenue
by Mayor Albert E Anderson.
Aldermen attending were Dr. Paul Abramson, Jack Bramble, Joseph
Donaldson, Robert Howard and Calvin Hulsey. Alderman Ray Pepe was
absent.
Also present were Mayor Anderson, City Clerk Louise Turner, City
Attorney Maurice Fox, staff personnel and interested citizens.
Citizen Comments were made by James Powell of 3605 Kline, a partner
in Karel in Investments which is developing land along I-70, who re-
commended a speed limit on I-70 within the City. He noted that far
more noise and smog are generated at 70 MPH than at 50 MPH.

Motion by Alderman Hulsey "I move that a Public Hearing be set for
consideration of a 3-way liquor license for Como's at 9110 West 44
Avenue for December 7, 1972 at 7 30 p.m. and a tentative boundary be
set at one mile from the outlet which boundary can be increased or
decreased according to information presented at the hearing." Motion
was seconded by Alderman Donaldson and passed 5-0.
A Preliminarv Hearinq for a transfer of ownership for Ridgeview Super
Market at 9005 West 44 Avenue was held. Applicant Frank R. Bettale
and Attorney Carl Seelinger were present. Mr. Seelinger stated the
business sold on October 2, 1972 and that Mr. Bettale had been manager
with the license in the name of William Ervin.
Motion by Alderman Abramson "I move that a Public Hearing be set for
a change of ownership of Ridgeview Super Market for December 7, 1972
at 8 00 p.m. during the normal course of the meeting." Motion was
seconded by Alderman Hulsey and passed 5-0.
WV-72-03 Vacation Case was heard. Applicants, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Roboff
requested a vacation of a triangle of ground at 46 Avenue and Estes.

Hulsey and read
Motion by Alderman Donaldson "I move Ordinance No. 119 be approved
on first reading and be ordered published and posted." Motion was seconded
by Alderman Abramson and passed 5-0. Alderman Pepe was absent.
WV-72-04 Vacation Case was heard. Applicant Karelin Investments requested
the vacation of Tracts C and E of Karelin Subdivision at the outer limits
of the bulb of a cul de sac so that extensions of improvements could be
made. These tracts were dedicated in Karelin Subdivision and the need
for the outer perimeter of the cul de sac was done away with in resubdivision.
The Planning Commission had recommended approval by a vote of 5-0.

Ordinance No. 120 (pertaining to vacation in Karelin Subdivision) was
introduced by Alderman Donaldson and read.
Motion by Alderman Donaldson "I move for approval of Ordinance No. 120
on first reading and that it be published and posted." Motbnwas seconded
by Alderman Abramson and passed 5-0. Alderman Pepe was absent.
WV-72-05 Vacation Case was heard. Applicants Lewis Day, Don and Beulah
Hawley, and Flora Dunlop requested vacation of Tracts C, D, E, F, G
and H of Fruitdale Subdivison, easements in Block 3, Fruitdale Subdivision
and West 46 Avenue and West 46 Place as platted in Fruitdale Subdivision.
Robert Barr of the Planning Department stated the area would be resubdivided
and the streets would be replatted in a slightly different position.
He said the case had been properly posted and published and that the
Planning Commission had recommended approval in order to clarify the
legality of the preliminary plat before the final plat was to be considered by
them.
Ordinance No. 121 (pertaining to a vacation in Fruitdale Subdivision) was
introduced by Alderman Bramble and read.
Motion by Alderman Bramble "I move that Ordinance No. 121 be adopted
on first reading and be ordered published and posted." Motion was
seconded by Alderman Donaldson and passed 3-2. Aldermen Abramson
and Howard voted "nay." Alderman Pepe was absent.
City Attorney Maurice Fox requested authority to purchase property in
the Greenbelt owned by Anrn Edens.
Motion by Alderman Bramble "I move that the City Attorney be authorized
to purchase the Anne Edens Greenbelt property, parcel #2 for a price not
to exceed $4,150.00." Motion was seconded by Alderman Donaldson and
passed 5-0.
Meeting was adjourned at 9 45 p.m.
