HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution-1969-0021 RESOLUTION NO. ,~_ Series of 1959 WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge is new and must develop personnel policies and procedures. WHEREAS, economical operation of the City requires the selection of personnel on a best qualified basis. WHEREAS, the City initially lacks adequate testing and personnel evaluation facilities. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED, that; A luheat Ridge Personnel Advisory Committee be established to work, with other committees, in the screening of candidates for City positions, to recommend pay scales, policies and procedures relating to all personnel and to prepare a proposed merit program on the following terms and conditions: (1) Powers: The committee is empowered by Council to call expert witnesses as required in policy development except where any cost is to be incurred, advance approval of council is required. The committee is empowered to consult with City employees to determine their desires. (2) Support: The Director of Administrative Services will provide services required to publish reports prepared by the committee. ") (c) At the first meeting, the Uirector of Administrative Services will provide the hiring plan for the balance of 1969 and 1970 and he will advise the committee concerning additional vacancies as they develop through 1971. (d) Initial priority will be given initially to selection of best qualified personnel. (4) Duration: Term of the committee is two years. At the end of its two-year term, the committee will recommend to council whether or not the Personnel Advisory Committee should be continued with the same or revised functions. (5) Th~ ~eport: A deadline of September, 1970 is established for submission of a proposed merit promotion plan to City Council.
