RESOLUTION NO. 141
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge does not offer fire protection
service as one of its municipal functions; and
WHEREAS, portions of the City are protected by the Wheat Ridge
Fire Protection District and the Prospect Valley Fire Protection
District; and
WHEREAS, these Districts, after thorough investigation have
concluded that it is feasible to consolidate and merge these Districts
into a single District; and
WHEREAS, said consolidation may be effected in an economically
feasible manner; and
WHEREAS, such consolidation will lead to a better fire protec-
tion service for the City; and
WHEREAS, the District Court of Jefferson County will consider
the approval of the petition to consolidate the Districts on October 4,
1971 at 10:00 a.m.:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge approve the proposal to consolidate the two fire
Districts and request that the Court give favorable consideration to
the Peti ti on.
