Introduced by Alderman Donaldson
RESOLUTION NO. 184
Series of 1972
WHEREAS, PLAN JEFF CO has asked the City Council of
Wheat Ridge to support its concept of a 1/2 Cent Sales Tax for
various purposes relative to the acquisition of open space;
WHEREAS, the City Council has given serious considera-
tion to this proposal;
WHEREAS, the tax will impose unjust financial burdens on
the City and invades the taxing structure necessary to operate
this Government;
WHEREAS, the use of the money that may ultimately be
returned to the City is restricted in such a way as to deprive local
representatives of our right to determine the best way to expend the
local tax funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The City Council
oppose this tax proposal as unjust and unfair to the City and its
residents.
