RESOLUTION NO. 228
Series of 1973
WHEREAS, the City Planning Department has been understaffed
since approximately April 19, 1973,
AND WHEREAS, a backlog of work on cases concerning the Plan-
ning Department has accrued as a direct result of this staffing problem,
AND WHEREAS, the City Attorney is able to aid the City in
reducing this backlog of cases and problems stemming from the staffing
problem,
AND WHEREAS, the City Attorney is not a full time employee,
but compensated at an hourly rate,
AND WHEREAS, it is anticipated that with the aid of the City
Attorney, the City will be able to resolve said backlog of planning and
zoning cases,
AND WHEREAS, it is anticipated this problem will be under
control by approximately June 30, 1973.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That Maurice F. Fox, City
Attorney, be compensated at the rate of $22 per hour for his services
rendered the City in the case backlog, presenting cases, and work on
other land use difficulties.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That the City Attorney is directed
to spend no more than a total of 100 hours of time between the dates
of April 20, 1973 and June 30, 1973, in aiding and assisting the Plan-
ning Department in resolving these problems without further approval
of the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That Maurice F. Fox, City Attorney,
shall be compensated as above stated, for those hours spent in present-
ing planning and zoning cases to the City Council, Planning Commission
and Board of Adjustment in behalf of the Planning Department and initial
efforts of analysing and resolving current problems which services have
been rendered since April 20, 1973, to the present date.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That said funds be paid from Account
No. 419.11.
