RESOLUTION NO. 281
Series of 1974
W,EREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge when it came into existence
contained several industrial and commercial developments; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge is desirous of expanding its
interaction with the business and industrial community which it must
administer and serve; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge feels the need for improved
understanding of the problems of proper development for industry and
commerce; and
WHEREAS, the City of Wheat Ridge recognizes the need to serve
efficiently and effectively;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that a Business and Industrial
Relations Committee is established with the following goals;
1. To examine ordinances which affect the commercial and
industrial segments of the community and make recommendations
regarding modification, if necessary, to the City Council.
2. To study the need for industrial land within the City of
Wheat Ridge or within the region which it could serve over
the next ten years.
3. In conjunction with 2, to study the current and future
availability of services and utilities within the City.
4. To develop and put out with City approval a brochure
outlining the legislation of impact to potential developers
and outlining available developable sites.
5. To provide input to the Planning Department, Planning
Commission and City Council on proposed developments.
6. To establish a checklist for developers through the
cooperation and coordination of the City Departments so that
developers will know precisely what procedures are necessary
in order for them to complete their application.
7. To act as a liaison to the community as a whole on matters
of industry and commerce.
WHEREAS, the City recognizes the need for all segments of the
community to be represented;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the make-up of the Committee
shall be as follows:
1. Two representatives of the industrial segment of Wheat
Ridge and two representatives of the business/commercial
interests within the City. No more than two of these repre-
sentatives may reside outside the City. In all cases, these
representatives should represent an industry, business or
commerce which operate within the City.
2. Three residents of the City who do not operate a business
or commercial interest within the City and who are not em-
ployed by an industry within the City, one from each Ward.
3. Industrial, business/commercial representatives to be
appointed by Council at large, and wards appointed by
representative aldermen.
4. Appointments to be for a term of one year, subject to a
review at the end of the term.
