RESOLUTION NO, 351
Series of 1974
WHEREAS, Wheat Ridge City Government wishes to encourage
maximum citizen participation, comment and suggestions in matters
lnvolving street improvements, drainage needs and other Public
Works projects which are of vital importance to the community at
large; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has decided to achieve this
objective through the formulation of an active Public Works Com-
mittee whose membership would include citizens selected from all
areas of the community; and
WHEREAS, the work of the Public Works Committee will greatly
facilitate the scheduling of priorities and the identification of
needed Public Works projects which will greatly assist the Public
Works Department in carrying out its function, Public Works repair
and maintenance; and
WHEREAS, the City Council and the Mayor have taken positive
steps at a public meeting to organize and select the members of the
Public Works Committee;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Public Works Com-
mittee of the City of Wheat Ridge is hereby created as a citizens'
advisory group consisting of one person to be selected and nominated
by each Ward Alderman and one person selected and nominated by the
Mayor to serve a term of one year ending _December 31, 1975
and that the duties of the Public Works Committee shall be as
follows:
A, To regularly meet and confer in an advisory capacity on
the needs and ~iorities of street maintenance projects, street sur-
facing and resurfacing projects, drainage projects, street lighting
needs, traffic signalization, walkways, and sign needs and related
matters.
B. In consultation with the Public Works Director and staff
members, to formulate and recommend priorities on projects on a
City-wide basis.
C, To advise the City Council on the need, feasibility and
desirability of street widening projects or other related street
improvements,

D, To receive and consider citizens' complaints on matter5
relating to Public Works projects.
E. To act a5 a liai50n with the public at large in matter5
pertaining to the Public Works Department or its work program.
F, To act as an advisory body to the City Council a5 needed
on Public Works matter5,
