TITLE: RESO~UTION REAFFIRMING OPPOSITION TO THE CONVERSION OF
KIPLING STREET TO A LIMITED ACCESS FREEW~Y
..
WHEREAS, this City Council has on two previous occassions by
Resolutions No. 208, Series of 1973, and No. 371, Series of 1975,
unanimously apposed any realignm~nt of Kipling Street or its conver-
sion to a limited access freeway; and
WHEREAS, a limited access freeway is still shown beside Kipling
as it goes through Wheat Ridge on the long range planning maps of JRPP;
and
Whereas, there has been and continues to be strong opposition
to any substantial change in the present configuration and/or use of
~.
Kipling Street through the City af Wheat Ridge;
NBW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that it reaffirms its strong opposition to any
conversion of Kipling Street to a limited access freeway and/oT any
realignment from its present location within the City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that it is the desire of the City
Council and the Citizens of Wheat Ridge that Kipling Street remain
substantially the same type of thoroughfare that it is at the present
time; and that this Council HEREBV RESOLVES to oppose any actions
contrary to this resolution in all ways at its disposal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby directs
its Representative to DRCOG, Mr. Robert Howard, to pursue in the pro-
per manner the removal of the designation of Kipling Street as a
limited access freeway from the JRPP long range alan.
