TITLE: RESOLUTION PETITIONING THE WESTRIDGE SANITATION DISTRICT TO
REQUEST A RE-HEARING BEFORE THE METROPOLITAN DENVER SEWAGE
DISPOSAL DISTRICT NO. 1 BOARD REGARDING THE INSTALLATION OF
A SEWER LINE AND CONNECTION THROUGH W1EAT RIDGE PARK.
WHEREAS, the Westridge Sanitation District was unsuccessful
in its request to construct an unmetered connection to the Metro Dis-
trict Clear Creek Interceptor Sewer through Wheat Ridge Park, such
request being denied by the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan
Denver Sewage Disposal District No. 1 on October 19, 1975; and
WHEREAS, the construction of this sanitary sewer line would
have benefited the general public of Wheat Ridge by providing an out-
let for City facilities located in Wheat Ridge Park; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the proposed sewer interceptor
would have benefited the Westridge Sanitation District by the elimi-
nation of a pumping station with attendant annual maintenance costs
which are substantial and which must be borne by members of that
District; and
WHEREAS, the flows through this connection would be primarily
residential and domestic in nature which can be accurately estimated,
thereby eliminating the need for expensive metering devices at this
location; and
WHEREAS, the refusal by the Metro Sewer District Board appears
to be contrary to the public interest of Wheat Ridge;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Wheat Ridge that the Westridge Sanitation District is hereby peti-
tioned to request a re-hearing of this matter before the Metro Sewer
District Board of Directors for the purpose of presenting additional
information and testimony.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Administrator, and
interested Councilmen be directed to attend such re-hearing meeting
and present information for and on behalf of the City of Wheat Ridge
in this matter.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be trans-
mitted by the City Clerk to all members of the Westridge Sanitation
District Board of Directors and to all members of the Metro Sewer Dis-
trict Board of Directors.
