RESOLUTION NO. 532
Series of 1977
TITLE: RESOLUTION OFFICIALLY REQUESTING THE JEFFERSON COUNTY OPEN SPACE
COMMITTEE TO SECURE A QUALIFIED APPRAISAL OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES
LOCATED IN THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO, PROPOSED FOR PURCHASE
UNDER THE COUNTY -WIDE OPEN SPACE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the City of IVheat Ridge has funds available to it from the
one-half cent (y,~) sales tax approved by the voters of Jefferson County for
the acquisition of Open Space areas; and
WHEREAS, the City has adopted a Parks and Open Space Plan which
identifies the following parcels for possible acquisition as part of the
Clear Creek Greenbelt, to-wit:
(1) Parcel at Independence Court/Clear Creek, zoned
R-2, A-I, owned by Minnie B. Van Hooser;
(2) Parcel at Garland/Clear Creek, zoned R-2, owned
by the First National Bank of Denver; and
(3) Parcel at Clear Creek, NE of 44th Ave. Bridge,
zoned R-3, owned by Kenneth L. and Irene Bowser;
and
WHEREAS, the owners of the above parcels have indicated to the City
that the properties are available for sale for Parks and Open Space Clear
Creek Greenbelt purposes; and the City is interested in further study of
the proposed purchases;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge that the Jefferson County Open Space Committee is hereby
requested to secure a qualified, professional appraisal to determine the
value of the above parcels as soon as possible;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appraisal should indicate the value
of that portion of the property which lies within the established Flood Plain
of the City and that which is outside of the Flood Plain as well as the
total value of the individual parcels;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed to
send a copy of this Resolution to all members of the Jefferson County Open
Space Committee and the Open Space Director.
