RESOLUTION NO. 581
Series of 1978
TITLE: RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL
CHAPTERS OF THE WHEAT RIDGE CITY CHARTER WITH SPECIAL PROVISION
PERTAINING TO CHAPTER II, SECTION 2.4, AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING
THE COLLECTION BY THE CITY OF ALL CITY SALES TAX AND CITY USE TAXES
COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 1979.
WHEREAS, the citizens of Wheat Ridge have approved and adopted a
Home Rule City Charter; and
WHEREAS, Section 17.3 specifies that the various Chapters of the Charter
must be placed into effect by Resolution of the City Council and that the
effective dates must be indicated in the Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to implement all Chapters of the
City Charter immediately, except that Section 2.4 of Chapter II be delayed
temporarily to allow completion of the re-districting procedure;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge that all Chapters of the Wheat Ridge City Charter are hereby placed
in full force and effect in their entirety commencing on the effective date of
this Resolution with the exception that effective date of Section 2.4 of
Chapter II shall be delayed for 30 calendar days following the finalization
of the re-districting process stated in Section 4.2 of Chapter IV; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City shall commence collection of
City Sales taxes and City Use taxes on January 1, 1979; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to make appropriate amendments as necessary to the Rules of Order and
Procedure of the City Council to conform with the City Charter.
