RESOLUTION NO. 614
Series of 1978
TITLE: RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO PARTICULATE CONTROL OF THE CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE
WHEREAS, the Denver Region has been designated as a non-attainment
area for four air pollutants: carbon monoxide, ozone, particulates and
nitrogen dioxide, and
WHEREAS, the State Air Quality Implementation Plan (SIP) must be
developed and submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by
January 1, 1979, and
WHEREAS, the Implementation Plan must provide for reasonably available
methods of control relating to carbon monoxide (CO), ozone and particulates, and
WHEREAS, Federal law requires the attai~ment of air pollution
standards by December 31, 1982.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Wheat Ridge, that the City will cooperate in all reasonable efforts to
attain clean air standards including, but not limited to, instituting certain
measures pertaining to particulate control.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that due to the substantial cost, the City
hereby requests the State of Colorarlo and the Federal Government to participate
financially in the cost of those mandated efforts to help alleviate the impact
on the City budget of this program.
