RESOLUTION NO. 723
Series of 1980
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT PREAPPLICATION
FOR A WATER SYSTEM PROJECT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND
URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) UNDER THE SMALL CITIES PROGRN1 OF THE
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG).
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of l'fueat Ridge recognlzes
the need for water system improvements to alleviate fire hazards of
all the residential and commercial structures in the project area,
roughly bounded by West 26th Avenue to West 29th Avenue, and from
Sheridan Boulevard to Fenton Street; and
WHEREAS, this project will meet imminent community development
need for a majority of low and moderate income persons in the affected
area; and
WHEREAS, this project is within the jurisdiction of the City
of Wheat Ridge; and
WHEREAS, the property owners In the Southeast Water Association
requested the assistance of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council appointed a Community Action Committee
and has recommended approval of the preapplication;and
l';'HEREAS, the City Council has held public hearings on October 27
and November 10, 1980, on the preapplication.
NOl<l, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Ci ty Council of the City
of \meat Ridge, Colorado, that the City of lmeat Ridge hereby
authorizes the Department of Community Development to submit the project
preapplication to HUD for a small cities block grant.
