RESOLUTION NO. 860
Series of 1983
TITLE: A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE E911 INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the citizens of the City of Wheat Ridge have for
many years desired an emergency telephone service; and
WHEREAS, the Coalition of Cities' efforts have culminated
an Intergovernmental Agreement desired by the County of Jefferson
and Cities, Towns and Fire Districts of Jefferson County; and
WHEREAS, THE City Council of the City of Wheat Ridge deems
it appropriate to enter into said Intergovernmental Agreement for
the purpose of providing emergency telephone service and to estab-
lish a separate legal entity to be known as the "Emergency Telephone
Service Authority"; and
WHEREAS, Section 14.2 of the Home Rule Charter of the City
of Wheat Ridge authorizes the City of Wheat Ridge, by resolution,
to enter into intergovernmental agreements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF WHEAT RIDGE, that the Intergovernmental Agreement Concerning
the Implementation of an "E911" "Emergency Telephone Service",
which is attached hereto, be approved and that the Mayor and City
Clerk be authorized to sign said Intergovernmental Agreement.
