TITLE:
RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE INTENT TO APPROPRIATE CASH
MATCH AND CERTIFYING CERTAIN ASSURANCES AS REQUIRED BY
THE COLORADO DIVISION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE IN CONJUNCTION
WITH A GRANT APPLICATION FOR A POLICE AUTOMATION PROJECT
SUBMITTED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE FEDERAL JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE ACT.
WHEREAS, The City of Wheat Ridge seeks to provide the
highest quality of law enforcement services to the citizens of the
City of Wheat Ridge, and
WHEREAS, The City of Wheat Ridge City Council recognizes
the urgent need for automation of certain police records functions
to enhance communications, crime pattern analysis, records management,
and investigative support, and
WHEREAS, The City of Wheat Ridge subscribes to the
philosophy of shared services with other municipalities and believes
that the sharing of these computer capabilities with other area police
agencies will enhance the quality of law enforcement services able to
be provided by all participating agencies, and
WHEREAS, Federal grant funds have become available under
the Justice Assistance Act to be administered by the Colorado State
Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Justice which may
help to facilitate this project, and
WHEREAS, the Justice Assistance Act and the Division of
Criminal Justice requires that certain certified assurances and a
certification of Intent to Appropriate Cash Match must be provided
in order to be considered for receipt of such grant funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Wheat Ridge that the cash match required on the part of the
City of Wheat Ridge shall be provided and that all requirements as
specified in the form regarding "Certified Assurances" shall be
complied with in the event that the Division of Criminal Justice
grants such funds, and the Mayor be authorized to sign said
"Certification of Intent to Appropriate Cash Match" and "Certified
Assurances" forms attached to this resolution.
DONE AND RESOLVED on this 8th day of July, 1985.
